How to get my navman reset to factory settings

To restore the device to factory default settings, go to Settings > Device > Restore factory defaults. Please note that you will lose all stored information on the unit including addresses (ex. MY Places, Recent Locations). you can aslo contact the customer care

If you have any chance of receiving a repair or replacement unit from Navman, do that. I do not know their return/repair policy but trying to fix it yourself may void any chance you have of getting real customer support, unfortunately.

He says there is a paperclip hole. This should do a factory reset and may fix your device. Otherwise he claims that reformatting the drive then "safely disconnecting hardware' may fix the device.

I tried to download the user manual for your model, but unfortunately the server link was dead (this may be temporary). Try going to Navman Support for either another try at the manual's download page or an e-mail link for the answer to your question.
Some equipment has a "reset to factory default" button or procedure; this should reset the PIN and user settings to factory default. I don't know if this is the case with your GPS unit since I can't get the manual, but this would be the simplest method if it doesn't erase map updates.

uder the base of the unit you will see a small hole about the size of a pen this is the reset button get a pen or similar item insert the nib into the hole and press the button this should reset the unit

Mine did the same, and said no gps no fix. I called the factory, now called Northstar, tech said to reset unit, and it worked. Great signal strength. Turn unit on and access menu, access factory settings,hit factory reset. However you will lose all your waypoints.

Go to the setting area and select "Preferences" there is a "reset Factory default" option select it.

Took it To someone that knows about them, The GPS unit has failed its back for warranty claim NO WORRIES :)

go to factory reset under spanner and keep pressing next till reset comes on

Please go to Preference option on your navman. From the main screen you can setup the following preferences.Now scroll to 3rd page of the prefrences.There you will see the following options:

• Start Up – enable/disable the tutorial and language selection screen that appear when the system is switched on.
• Saved Info – here you can delete recent locations, favourites, avoidances and reset to factory defaults.
• Bluetooth – this option allows you to setup bluetooth pairing with a mobile phone.
• Tutorial – run the tutorial that appears at startup.
• Shop Demo--runs a demo so you can see the Navman S50 in action.

Just select the SAVED INFO option and then you will see a RESET TO FACTORY DEFAULT OPTION.

Try cold boot, that is factory reset button on the right of the power/usb cable slot.
