Not sure if a seal is needed or something else. The plastice box that has a hose feeding into it has an open top that may be splahing water out when the hose feeds water. This plastic box is on left wall outside maching with opening into the dishwasher. Water leaks from here. Not sure what this box or hose is/does. Can you help solve leak?
-Here sample solution.
-The plastic box or cap you're talking about is the " Breather Cap"
-Check the drain tube from the breather cap to the sink. It must be clean and no block.
-Make sure the breather cap stays in up right. (Straight Up)
-Check the breather cap's Cap . Any big chuck of food waste stuck inside or not. If so the clean it.
-Check the whole breather cap. Any crack...? If so the replace new one.
Good luck ,enjoy and wash every day

SOURCE: Water Leak at vent area in door...
On this model the vent is open and shut by a wax motor. The vent should be closed tight during the entire wash cycle and the first 6 minutes of the drying cycle. Check the operation, make sure there is not a bunch of gunk restricting it. If you are handy with a meter check the resistance of the motor. It should read approx. 2100ohms. Another reason for leaking at the base is oversudzing. Also check the upper spray arm for cracks or splits shooting water into the vent area. Catriver...post back.

To clear the drain in a few easy steps; find where the outlet hose connects into your house drain system, disconnect it and then see if the machine will drain into a bucket/tray. Try it both by gravity (if you can get the hose below the water level)and with the machine on if not. This will tell you if the blockage is in the house drain not the machine. If the house drain is clear, see if you can disconnect the drain hose from the machine end and check it isn't blocked.if this is not removable, try poking a bit of wire or similar down it, being careful not to go past where it enters the machine (measure your bit of wire against the outside of the hose first). As Joe says, if you are sure the accessible filters and everything you can get to easily are clear, a garden hose in the hole will possibly clear the blockage if you can get a bit of pressure - often the easiest way is to hold a rag tightly around the end of the hose and the hole you are trying to get water through. (Note you will get wet - be very careful of electical sockets etc). If this doesn't seem to clear the blockage then the pump is either faulty, or not recieving instructions from the control board to work (more likely, although you would expect an error message). Hope this helps, if you wish to change Joe's rating you can just by rating the advice again. Good luck :)
