Panning to left automatically

The problem is that when I have the vocals panned in the middle. if I try to pan it to the right, it's completely muted. it's only with the vocal track and I guess I could put it onto an other, but I don't know that I'd get the same equalizers or quality. sorry if it seems stupid, but it's been a real pain.

When running live sound in mono should I pan everything to 1 channel or use splitter and pan everything to middle coming out both channels

Frank, What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Are you attempting to do a single mix with only 1 output/speaker? Depending on your personal preferences, if you are using multiple outputs, then you should be running everything in stereo. It is more difficult, but when mastered, it will give you a better sound than just mono. For example; If you are amping your drums, they should always be panned in the middle. That is, unless you are going for individual snare separation. If your lead guitar stands to the left of the main vocalist, then the guitar should be panned slight left. Rhythm guitar should be in the middle. ETC. Remember, in the end, it all comes down to the sound you are trying to attain. So as the sound mixer, the ball is in your court. ^^ Good luck, and hope this helps.

Oil pan gasket

theres a couple ways to go about this depending on application. first look at how much room you have between the oil pan and suspension. in some cases you can knock the motor mounts and transmission mounts off(some cases you also need to remove tires and remove hub nuts to allow axles to move) and raise the motor up a few inches to allow enough room to slide the pan out. the other two options if that wont work (its up to you to evaluate how much room you have and how much is needed) is to either remove the motor to allow access or drop the front end away to allow access. in some rare cases you can get right to it. in either case once you gain access 1.drain oil 2. remove pan bolts and remove pan 3. clean both contact surfaces, remove any old gasket material with a scraper tool and ensure a clean surface exists on the pan and bottom of the block 4. place a thin film of rtv sealant on the oil pan and put gasket in place, alow sealant to tack up (cure slightly) this will help the gasket stay in place as you install it, ensure bolt holes on pan line up with gasket 5. apply a thin film of rtv sealant to the opposite side of the gasket (emphasis in both cases on "thin film" no globs or large amounts) 6. align pan with block bolt holes and firmly hold in place (try not to let it move around as you get your first two bolts started as this may bunch up the gasket) 7.start a bolt in each corner and tighted down finger tight (so it holds pan fully up to the block but do not fully tighten yet) 8.install the rest of the bolts finger tight 9. starting in the middle of the pan tighten each bolt down good and snug (do not over tighten!) working in a spiral order work your way from the middle of the pan out (middle bolt on one side then the middle bolt on the other side, then the bolt next to first middle bolt, then the bolt next to second middle bolt, etc..) i dont have the torque specs for you vehicle on hand. but i have always just gone with good and snug and never had an issue, however its up to you to decide if you want to find out and use torque specs or not. the most important part is to not over tighten the bolts however. hope this helps, good luck!

How do u take off the oil pan on a 1999 awd bravada 4.3

Hello skullz, this is a fairly big task but it can be done in your driveway. Take your time, keep track of all your parts you remove. Use masking tape and a sharpie to label stuff if you feel like it will make easier to reinstall....These steps are for a 99 blazer 4x4 with an aluminum pan. You wont need to do some of the shift linkage removal due to the AWD and electronics the Olds has.

Disconnect battery and remove battery tray. Disconnect shift cable at actuator. Raise and support vehicle.

Remove underbody shield from steering linkage and engine oil pan. Drain crankcase. Remove starter motor.

Remove oil cooler pipes and both front wheels. Disconnect electrical connector and remove wiring harness bracket at shift cable housing.

Remove 3 shift cable housing bolts and disconnect shift cable from differential carrier. Remove both front drive axles. Remove differential housing.

Remove 10 oil pan bolts, 2 nuts at crankshaft rear oil seal and remove 2 transmission to oil pan bolts....Remove oil pan from vehicle....When you reinstall & tighten the oil pan bolts, start in the middle of the pan and go back to the bellhousing, directly across from each bolt---left, right, left right...then, from the middle towards the front of engine, right, left, right left...Torque to 18 ft/lbs

Good luck... if you tackle this job its a fun one....

How can i setup mu xenyx 802 with my pc? i also hve fca202...

You can do it one of two ways when coupled with the FCA202. First, You can just come out of the main outs on the 802 via 1/4 in to the 202s 1/L in and 2/R in. Second, you could do two separate channels (ie. Vocal channel and Guitar Channel) using the L/R out on the 802. Use the pan knob to send the instrument to the selected channel. So, If your Guitar is on channel 1 pan hard left and you will only get it out of the left channel sending to channel 1 of the 202, and your vocal is in channel 2 pan hard right and you will only get it out of the left channel sending to channel 2 on the 202. Good Luck, Cody J.

How can I get a professional sound out of my vocals; what I'm trying to say is how do I edit my vocals to get that studio effect or what ever, like all of that panning and equalizing business and so...

first, you need a hugh quality studio mic or a seinheiser, sure sm 58s and cheaper mics sould muffled compared to real studio mics.

whatever mic you have, the key to the studio sound os overtracking. record your vocals, singing exactly the same, 2 times, and pan 1 take to the right, and another to the left. this will give it as chorus effect.

then, use an eq to drop everything below 500 hertz about 20 decibels or so, thios will make it cut above the pusic and sound clearer.
after this, you can add effects such as delay, reverb and maybe chorus, but too much effects will muddy the sound.

I need to output guitar and vocal separately. No matter how I hook it up guitar comes thru the vocal channel

Hi there. Use the "pan" pots to assign the guitar to left channel and all other pans to right channel. Also, turn all effects off or down all the way. (Effects return all the way down.
Thanks

C01u PROBLEM PLS HELP ?!

That's the way it's supposed to work. It's a mono microphone, so there's only one signal to record.

Set up your recording software so that it only records the Left channel. It describes how to do this on the Samson FAQ page and in the Owner's Manual:

"In your digital audio workstation (DAW), create a mono audio track, and set it to the Left channel of the C01U (the Right channel should be ignored). Arm the track for recording, and adjust the input gain by using the software control in your computer's operating system"

Don't try to alter the pan so both sides are the same; that will just screw up the levels and noise.

2002 Chevy Malibu Transmission Filter Change...

Not very hard by all means if you have a few basic hand tools, a torque wrench and ramps or a jack and stand to lift the car up...

About 95% of automotive automatic transmissions do not have a drain plug, so you have to remove the transmission pan to drain the fluid, and the filter is up under the pan anyway. Remove all the pan bolts, drop the pan, make sure you have a container ready for the oil under it... If you buy the filter/pan gasket kit and you look at the filter it should be a pinch to spot. 649425d.jpg This is what your particular filter looks like (from the top)

Replace the filter, clean the pan/transmission mating surface with emery cloth, scuff pad, or whatever needs to be used to get the metal clean again (without removing too much material eg. a grinder would definitely cause a leak).

Reinstall the pan with the new gasket (do not use silicone or any type of fluid "gasket maker" Automatic transmissions have a lot of tiny oil passages which can easily be blocked by these products and cause severe transmission damage)

Torque the bolts to the manufacturer's spec (you don't really need a torque pattern, just start from the middle of the pan and alternate from side to side (this is to make sure the pan seats square with the transmission body)) 90% of the time you could tighten them anyway you want and wouldn't have a leak but you want it done right the first time so don't take any chances (you should be able to get the torque value from the parts store where you get the filter/gasket kit). I'm not able to pull out an exact spec for you right now.

Fill the tranny up, then drive th
