This is really silly, but I don't know how to take my phone off of mute. I have a Panasonic KX-TD7896.
Panasonic KX-TD7896. I can hear caller, but caller can't hear me. Could my handset be stuck on "mute"? I can't find this topic in the instruction manual.

Not to be smart but have you read the manual? A 7896 has two modes of operation. If it's in the EMSS mode and you don't plug it into the system, guess what you get?
Is there an 'M' on the display? If so, that means it is in 'meeting mode.' All you have to do is press and hold the star key (*) and that will take care of it.
