The display on my Sharp Grill 2 Convection Model R 82ojs-f is too dim to read.

its a common problem with the sharp microwaves. the control pcb needs to be replaced. it should come with the clock attached to it.

Hello :

This happens because of a bad door switch . The plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door .

Check also the turntable . It could be out of it's right place .

WARNING :

1:Don't slam your microwave door because this may cause the fuse to blow and this is the reason of bad door switch problem .
2: A microwave is capable of giving you a serious electrical shock even when it's unplugged , so I recommend you to call a repair technician for help .

Open up the display and push on the end of the ribbon cable where it connects to the edge of the display driver PC board, if it lights up then your ribbon cable's connection pads are failing. REplace the ribbon cable. If it DOES NOT light up then you will need to replace the entire display assembly (driver board and LCD)
