The disc has to stay music on it on the label. Ones you use for a computer to burn music will not work with a CD Recorder,

SOURCE: Lost the manual, can't get hooked up

You need to use an audio CDr, data or computer CDr's will not work in this machine. I don't know this specific machine, but usually you select the input, then 'rec type' eg manual,1 track or 1 disc, then press record to get into record pause, start your source, then press play on the unit to start recording. To finalize, you press finalize then either the play or rec button to start the finalize process.

SOURCE: how do i finallize disk

Press the Finalize button (and it will start flashing) and then press Play button right away (the finalize light will stop flashing and be a steady light).

Once the disc is complete the CD-R light will change to CD.

Good luck!

My Yamaha CDR D651 appears to dislike new 50x maxell CD-r discs saying not audio. Works fine with 12x discs. What's wrong? Rowan

you probably have regular cd-r disks that cannot be recorded on in this unit. You can only use disks marked "DIGITAL AUDIO" for recording

How do record a cd when i hit the record button or bun button it say no audio

It means the disc is not for recording Digital Audio. It would say so right on it. You can't use data CD-R's for recording. The manual explains it.

Have not been able to find digital cd's. Are cd audios the same for use on philips 870

Philips CDR 870 is designed to RECORD with ONLY Audio or Music CD-R or CD-RW discs !!
The word(s) Audio Or Music MUST be written somewhere on the Cd disc or Cd Covers.
Computer CD-R and CD-RW discs will NOT Record on this recorder !!
My experience of GOOD Audio/Music discs : Philips,Sony,Traxdata,Verbatum
My experience of BAD Audio/Music discs : ALL unbranded discs, Maxell,TDK

My -rw will not play on my cd player

When you record to the cd-rw, make sure that you're making an Audio disk, not a multi-session (record disk-at-once) and make sure that the software finalizes the disk.

If that's still not working, post back the make and model of the CD player and I'll try to find a tech note for it. (use the "add comment" link)

If that does help, please be sure to hit the "thumbs up" for me!
