I replaced a battery in my 2001 pontiac montana n the lights started blinking as if the alarm was going off.i hit the unlock n lock button n the blinking stopped. i have power,lights n radio but van wont start.what can i do to get it started or do i have to reset it? if so how do i do that?

turning left and stalling sounds like your power steering pressure switch is bad.as for other problem try unlocking drivers door using the key this should reset the factory alarm. also make sure you didn't miss a wire when reconnecting bat. look for 12gauge red wire near bat. this goes to computer if not connected car will crank but not start.

there is posably a radio code in the owners manual otherwise i would say that your best bet is to take it in to a "dealer" there is a code on the radio that matches your vin then the company tells them the radio code i hope i helped. and thank you for using fixya

For the sliding doors you need to clean the contacts, there are 6 or 8 on both sides, just wipe them clean as they are probably covered in oil/grease/grime.

I also have a 2006 sv6 witht he exact same problem. The battery diesd in the remote and after changing it only sets off the alarm now instead of starting? Di dyou figure out the problem?

yeah i have the same problem with my bonneville. so your saying theres know way we can reset the stereo
