I had that and one of my ram modules was finished. Take it apart as much as you can and check everything is firmly in place. you can get new ram but it may not be ram it could be anything loose cable failure is the clue. As laptopps get bounced a lot you could well be lucky. Remove battery and power and take your jewelry off I use disposable gloves so I dont cause any shorts. While you are in there give your fan a clean. good luck.

#1. Verify there are no disks in the floppy or CD drive.

#2. Get into the BIOS and set everything to default.

#3. Have a friend create a boot disk for you or, if you have a program that is self booting, use that to get in.(i.e. Windows)

Keeps saying boot failure along with Ethernet controller v1.06 and media failure, check cable

What you are describing is a hard drive issue, remove hardware and reseat it back in place sometimes this will restart the hard drive. If this fails have it tested.

My hp pravillion dv6000 will not start up and go to windows. instead it makes radid fast beeps that will never end. not just 3 beeps, but over a hundred that never end untill you power it down with on off...

That means it has massive hardware failure, could be bad memory, etc. The board is getting an error code before the memory or while the memory is trying to post.

I am sorry that the Computer is not booting. Please try accessing the BIOS by pressing the F2 key or Del key. In the BIOS windiow, press F9 to reset the BIOS to its default values. If you have the service manual of the Computer, please remove the back panel of the Notebook and reconnect the Hard Drive cable.

Media test faiture, check cable error message ,

The error is related to your network interface card. In a lot of laptops this is integrated to the motherboard and can't be switched out at home. You will need to take the laptop in for service to have the card replaced.

Not always the Hard drive, boot into the bios setup utility and de-select network bootfrom the boot options. If it tries to network boot first you will always get that failure.
