My Sharing tabs Are Missing on my windows vista laptop

I'm trying to connect my xbox 360 up to my laptop so i have the use of xbox live.

But i'm missing both sharing tabs in my local area connection and my wireless connection.

Cause i've gone to propeties on both of them and it's prompted me to continue. So i do but no sharing tabs at all.

So i can't connect my xbox up.

Can someone please tell me how to get that tab up and showing so i can click on it.

This is what it says atm.

THE SHARING TAB WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE IF YOU HAVE ONLY ONE NETWORK CONNECTION.

So if that means that i need to add another network connection. Can you please tell me how in detail.

Thanx

SOURCE: Cannot find server or DNS Error

Please try the following:

Click the Refresh button, or try again later.

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings.
If you would like Windows to try and discover them,
click Detect Network Settings
Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.
Click the Back button to try another link.

SOURCE: xbox 360 live using internet through my laptop

Normally you would connect your xbox directly to the router. Is there a reason you are trying to connect to your laptop instead? (distance, etc.)

If that is what you truly want to do then first thing make sure you are using a CROSSOVER cable to connect your laptop and xbox together. standard network cables only apply to connecting to routers, switches, and other network controlers. If you are connecting two devices directly you must use this type cable. It is ussally red.

The share tab is only for sharing dialup connections to LAN connections. You are sharinbg two LAN connections so all you need to do is bridge them and make sure there are in the same IP group. Check the status of your wireless card to see what address the router is assigning to it. Then assign the IP to the wired adapter with a differnt higher number.. Example: If your wireless card is 192.168.1.100 then make your wired adapter 192.168.1.151 This should make it work.

Again, it would be much easier to connect your XBOX to the router like it was intended ;)

Trying to get Xbox live connected...

Follow these steps if you are trying to use a laptop :
1.
Make sure that your XBOX 360 is fully functional and your laptop is connected to the internet by means of a wireless card.
2.
Locate the Ethernet cord and connect it to both the computer and XBOX 360. Don't turn on the XBOX 360 yet.
3.
On your Vista, click "Start" then "Network". After select the tab "Network and Sharing Center." On the left tab, click on "Manage network connections." You will see a Local Area Connection and a Wireless Internet Connection.
4.
Use your mouse to select both icons and right click. Click on Bridge Connections. Turn on your XBOX 360, Sign In, and you will find yourself connected to XBOX LIVE.
5.
Once you are done, and you need to use your computer for other uses. Simply right click on the Bridge Connection and select disable.

I have tried to connect to xbox live

you need to make sure you have enabled ICS, Internet Connection Sharing. To do so, you go in to the internet settings (found in the network sharing centre)choose your net connection, click 'view status' and then click properties (the first of three buttons at the bottom, properties, disable and diagnose) then once the window pops up, there is a sharing tab, check the box that states 'allow other users to connect to this computers internet connection' after that simply dis connect and re connect and the new settings will be able to be used once you do a xbox live network test. Good Luck.
