Did you check if electricity was coming to the element. Try putting a volt meter on the two wires and turn it on see if you get anything...could be a bad switch
are u sure u want to replace the ceramic glass top,much beter to check the price of the unit, coz it is very expensive almost halt the price of the new one...dont try to replace it by ur self coz the glass cover is no waranty if u broke or wrong intallation,u waste ur money if hapen that,much beter to canvas first & call an expert tecnician to do it.
A small crack, turns into a big crack, Short of ordering a new piece of glass, there is no "fix" sorry. YOu can continue to use it, but eventually it will run across the cook top, and then shatter the glass... Better be safe than sorry.

Unplug first! Find the screws that hold the cooktop to the range. Usually in the front just above the oven door when it is closed on the underside. This should release the cooktop. The burners and wiring may have to be removed. You can order the part at sears.com.
