Does anyone know if I need the 'Brains' of the ION IED01 electronic drum kit, or can I plug the USB directly into my laptop? Somehow, I've lost that module and only have the kit!

The ION IED01 electronic drum kit requires the "brains" module to function properly. The module is responsible for converting the signals from the drum pads and cymbals into MIDI data that can be interpreted by a computer or other device. Without the module, the pads and cymbals will not produce any sound or trigger any MIDI data. Unfortunately, it is not possible to bypass the module and connect the USB cable directly to your laptop. You will need to obtain a replacement module in order to use the drum kit.

My drums dont have any sound even at full volume.when i press the kit buton like in the maual nothing happens?

Have you tested your amplifier and speaker for operation with other device. This unit needs to have a decent sound system connected. Do you get sound using the headphones?

What polarity is the input on the ion IED04 DIGITAL DRUM STAION BY ION. I HAD TO GET A POWER ADAPTER AND DON'T WANT TO DAMAGE UNIT. THERE IS NO PICTURE TO NOTE POLARITY.

There is NO POLARITY to worry about since you MUST use an adapter that supplies 9 volts AC at around 850ma. You CANNOT use a DC adapter with this unit and have it work. Putting a DC adapter of 9 volts on it won't damage it, it just won't work.

AC output adapters are harder to find.

Looking to upgrade the cartridge/styli in my ion audio profile pro turntable. What products/company/style should I be looking for?

I have the same turntable, and sadly the cartridge is proprietary and unable to be changed. However, you can still upgrade the sound quality by replacing the stylus to a higher quality needle. I did that for about $25 and feel better about playing my precious vinyl. The biggest problem to this turntable is the lack of anti-skate. That's very bad...

Beringer xenyx 1204 repair

OFTEN the broken part CAN BE RETREIVED without removing the faceplate. There are MANY knobs and screws to remove to get at the jack AND then, the jack is mostly sealed and one cannot get into the innards of the jack.

I want you to try a few things before tearing into the unit. Here are ideas to try, not necessarily in prefered order as I can't see your unit and the broken part.

1. Take a very thin sheet metal screw and try to drive it GENTLY into the broken adapter. OFTEN you can snag the thing and drag it out.

2. Take a sewing machine needle and STAB the plastic insulator of the broken part and attempt to drag it out.

3. Attempt to epoxy glue a small dowel to the broken part. Use minimual glue so it doesn't squish out to the sides of the jack.

4. If the broken part is iron, try using a small rare earth magnet to **** the thing out.

5. If enough of the broken part is near the surface, attempt to solder a wire to it to use to extract the broken part.

6. Using a sewing machine needle and a soldering iron, melt the needle into the plastic insulator of the broken part.

I am sure one of these suggestions will work. The jacks themselves are sealed all the way around and you would have to unsolder the jack from the board. You would either replace the jack, or drill a hole in the bottom of some of them to be able to push out the broken part. All of this internal type work has risk to the unit if you are not equiped to do the work. If you can snag the thing with the above suggestions it will be quicker and safer.

Power input needle snapped on Casio CTK 1000

The answer is repair shop if you don't have tools or experience with soldering. If you do it is simple to take it apart and take the old supply jack out. Take it to an electronic parts supplier so they can match a new one up for you. Make sure that the holes in the circuit board are clean and free of broken pins. Make sure that the traces leading to the holes are intact. Do not use too much heat or they will separate from the board. It might help to take the adapter with you as the jacks and plug have to match in size.
