I was listening to my sansa and i shut it off, then when i turned it on the black sandisk screen would come up. and thats all that would come up. occasionally the menu would show up but you could not navigate through it, if you tried the screen would turn white and automatically go back to the black sansa screen. and when i go to plug it in to my computer to charge the battery it doesnt recognize it. so im wondering if there is anything i can do to fix it, whether it be a new battery or what not. i appreciate all your help. thanks.
Hi. Seems like your player may be encountering some corruption. Try this and see if it would help: Switch your Sansa E250 to its Recovery Mode: 1. Make sure the player is powered off 2. Enable the "Hold" switch (located on the top of the player). You would know it's enabled when you see the "orange-colored" surface 3. Press the "Record" button. Make sure you keep it pressed while pressing on the "Menu" button. 4. keep your fingers pressed on these 2 buttons until the E250 LCD screen displays "Welcome to Recovery Mode" 5. Connect your E250 to your computer. (Just a reminder: The minimum Operating System requirements for a Sansa E200 player is Windows XP and above) 6. Double-click on "My Computer" and you would see your Sansa E250 appear as a "16 MB" drive. Note: If you do not see that "16 MB" drive/partition, please repeat steps 1-6. Next, Apply the firmware for the E250 (your player should be connected to your PC at this time): Step 1: Use this link to download the firmware for your Sansa E250 (for better results, please save this file on your "Desktop": http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downl... Step 2: Double left-click on the downloaded file, and follow the on-screen prompts. The file will automatically re-flash your player and format it as well, thereby clearing all possible file/system corruptions that may have occurred. Step 3: When the process is complete, unplug your E250 from your computer, and please make sure you disable the "Hold" switch Step 4: Power up your E250 and 90-99% of the time, it would boot up successfully. Let me know if this helped :)

I have something similar. I watched some videos just once but the next time I tried, all the videos made the screen go white the to the black SanDisk screen. I managed to get one video to play but no others will work.
i managed to turn on my mp3 and got it to a song but it won't play. it just shows the blue screen with the song title on it. i tried to charge it with my usb port and nothing happened. my computer said that it didn't recognize the hardware. i tried to sync it with some songs on windows media player, and, again, nothing happened. my brother's works fine, so i know it's not the connection to the computer. i'm wondering if it came in contact with a magnet somehow. help!
