Parts for older or inexpensive exercise bikes sold at department stores are mostly unavailable. If a Google search for "vitamaster l504 parts" is unsuccessful nobody here can do any better. I would suggest you just look for a good used exercise bike, as they often go for under $100 and even under $50.

Simply pull the indicator module straight up out of its plastic holder. No screws are attached. With a thin flat screwdriver pry open the bottom off the module. Insert 2 AAA batteries. Reassemble.
Only thing I can thing of doing is resizing and tapping the crank arm (if good shape) for newer pedals. If that does not work I guess your in the market for a new bike. Good Luck
Most of the time you can find an aftermarket pedal that will fit your bike. The important part is the size of the pedal shaft. Most commonly they are either 9/16" or 1/2". I will post a link to a video on how to measure the pedal shaft diameter as well as a link to some possible replacement pedals.
