I received a used Keurig coffee maker for my birthday but it doesn't do anything but make a whirring sound when you turn the power on. No lights come on even after several minutes. I assume the "heating" light should come on but it doesn't.

Empty the water reservoir and put back on the side of the Kurig. Put your hand in the reservoir and slide the disc that monitors the water level back toward the top and and hold in that position,the machine will think there is water. Then put a cup under the head and select a cup. The water will come out. You must hold the disc up inside the reservoir to continue to get the water out.

I had this problem and it got worse. I had to return the coffee maker to Keurig. They sent a refurbished one, which also had to be sent back. I am getting irritated with the poor quality.

Keurig is having a big problem with this. When you turn it on, pick up the reservoir and place it back down. What you are hearing is the unit trying to pull the water through and it won't. It will try for a minute and then shut itself off. So power on, lift and lower water unit and it should be good. CALL KEURIG and tell them about the problem. If enough of us call then maybe they will do something.
