Mine had a Panasonic CR2205 battery in it. I replaced it and Voila!

There is a funky clip holding the battery in place. I used a tiny flat head screw driver and put it in the side where it looked like it fit and the clip popped off enabling me to free the battery.

Happy aerobics!

I have this problem as well! I was just googling this problem when I found your post. I have the exact same watch and have had it for 2 years. I don't expose it to the sun or heat though.

SOURCE: Polar F6 - Battery replaced, display corrupt after watch loads.

I had the same problem. Replaced the battery very carefully; Test display came on; As soon as I pressed a button the egg timer came on and the display was corrupted and barely visible.

I tried the solution recommended by banjodoug. I also clipped the metal cage back on differently - I pressed the clips in diagonally starting with the corner of the battery contact underneath (this lifts up the circuit board in the corner very slightly). Clipping it diagonally this way seemed to seat the circuit board and display better.

Hey presto, the test display came on...I waiting few more seconds and the time came on.

It seems to be working fine now.

Polar rs200 watch blank screen

Yes! that is very possible, screws in some area's are critical. The battery that was replaced may have been not up to power, either way it must be dis-assembled to find out.

I changed my wife's Polar F11 HRM watch battery. When I replaced the battery the entire screen lit up, everything. I let it sit for a few minutes and the normal screen came up. Kind of like it was "booting...

Try resetting. From the manual, "if there are no reactions to any buttons, reset the wrist unit by pressing all the buttons simultaneously for two seconds. All other settings but time and date are saved."

Is it possible the watch block is not in correctly and the display is getting squished?

Polar F11 ''Scrambled/Smudged'' Display

You have to replace the battery with the new one. In most cases underpowered battery causes faded or even disappearing digits on LCD unless your watch has been damaged by water. Find your nearest watch repair shop or do it yourself. Do not forget to rate, please.

Polar F6

Hello,

It sounds like most of you have the heart rate set to display in % of max heart rate. Most Polar products have the option of heart rate in BPM(beats per minute) or percentage of max.

If you look at the display during the exercise, you will see a % icon. You can turn it off in by hitting the back button and go down to HR view settings.

Hope this helps.
