I have a Maytag MDG7600AWW LP gas dryer which was recently converted from natural gas The problem is that the gas burner/ valve will ignite properly but after a few seconds of operating normally it will begin to pop-back and then the flame will burn constantly down the manifold tube near the valve assembly or just off of the gas outlet of the valve body which causes it to run hot at the valve body shutting the burner off. All changes were made to the valve assembly including resetting the air adjustment at the burner manifold Could this be a gas pressure problem?
Are you sure the pin in the gas pressure regulator under the plastic cap and brass nut was turned 180 degrees to set it for propane gas?

You can get the conversion kit. It will tell you how to convert the dryer. I recommend that you get a technician to do it though.

yes it is very much necessary. the natural gas pressure is much lower that LP. it is @3.5 in, water column. The monometer is a pressure reading instrument that will tell what pressure is present at the gas source, appliance gas manifold and gas valve. Read the conversion kit instructions well. And adjust pressure according to data plate specifications. A u-tube water monometer is the best and most accurate however a standard analog will surfice. Please use caution.
