Cannot activate light on feature keys display

Our office has just been fitted with new Nortel 1140E IP phones and we have an attachment on the right hand side displaying all the speed dials, however this ndoes not appear to light up the same as the main display. Is there a setting for it or does it simply not light up?

You need to use an AC power supply on the base IP Phone 1140E for the backlight on the Expansion Module to work.

I'm having trouble transfering calls on my Norton IP 1140E. Every now and then when I take a call, the 'transfer' label hops over to a different button and I'm completely unable to transfer...

Hello, depending on the status of the call the buttons will change automatically. Be aware that you may not be the initiator of the call so you may not have all the features. I hope this helps. If not you may contact me at: http://www.liveperson.com/nortel-guy

How to move my ext# to a new phone location Nortel t7316E

The system has a built-in feature called "Set Relocation", which will allow you to move your phone to another active telephone jack in your office and the extension number, voicemail box, and all features will stay with your phone.

Have your system administrator turn on Set Relocation, or check your Norstar administration manual for programming details. Or, you can call your telecom service company and have them send a technician.

Reset a 1140E IP Phone

If you are running C6E or later firmware, then the following keypad sequence is used to reset all provisioning paramaters to a "factory default":
[*][*][7][3][6][3][9][MAC][#][#]
Where MAC corresponds to the MAC address of the IP Phone which can be found on a label on the back of the IP Phone.
Since a MAC address can contain the letters A-F, then letters A/B/C can be entered via the [2] key on the dialpad, and letters D/E/F can be entered via the [3] key.
For example, an IP Phone with MAC address 00:19:E1:E2:17:12 would be reset to "factory default" when the sequence **73639001931321712## is entered on the keypad.
