To block private calls on Android, open the Phone app, tap on the three dots for more options, select 'Settings' > 'Blocked numbers', and enable the option to block calls from unidentified callers.
Have her dial *82 before she dials the home number. If that works she has the cell phone set to block her number. *82 should unblock it for just that one call.
You would have to subscribe to that feature from your local phone company, then when a number like that calls they will get a recording that states you do not accept blocked calls...
Check your Sim in another phone to confirm , if there is no CLIP then the service provider has barred you and must get in touch. Also is possible that the phone has hung up because there are errors in the software. So to reset remove the battery and the memory card from the phone. Using your PC , scan the memory card for any corrupt files or media files with virus- it is possible when they are downloaded from unsafe sites. If so remove or format the card. Now replace the card and battery and switch on the phone. If the phone hangs up then it is confirmed that the software is corrupt and will need a reinstallation. Seeking help from the authorized service /support centre is most ideal. Take estimate and decide.
Just dial *67 before the phone number on your cell phone. This code is the universal command to deactivate caller ID.
For example, placing a blocked call would look like*67 555 555 5555 (without the spaces). On the receiving end, caller ID will usually display "private number" because it has been blocked.
Though you won't hear or see a confirmation of a successful caller ID block, it will work.
Thanks for using FixYa. I think you have stored more than 100 Caller ID messages and hence the caller ID is not showing on Uniden Tru8888.In the following cases the caller ID will not be shown-
If you answer a call before the Caller ID message is received (for example, before the second ring), the Caller ID message will not appear.
When the call is received via a telephone company that does not offer Caller ID service, the caller’s phone number and name does not appear. (This includes some international calls.)
When the call is via a private branch exchange (PBX), the caller's phone number and name may not appear.
You may receive any one of the following messages:
When a private name is received; Private Name
When a private number is received; Private Number
When a unknown name is received; Unknown Name
When a unknown number is received; Unknown Number
When invalid data is received; Incomplete Data
The Caller ID list stores information for incoming calls - even unanswered calls. You can store up to 100 Caller ID messages and phonebook entries (including Speed Dials) for each handset and the base. You can view the Caller ID list through the handset or base during a call or when the phone is in standby mode.
Memory locations for Caller ID messages and Phonebook entries (including Speed Dials) are common, you can store up to all 100 entries for each handset and the base. Caller ID messages are not stored when you have 100 phonebook entries. When you have stored a total of 100 phonebook entries and Caller ID messages, the oldest Caller ID message is overwritten.

If you subscribe to a caller ID service through your phone provider, you can block specific fax numbers so the device does not print faxes received from those numbers. When an incoming fax call is received, the device compares the number to the list of junk fax numbers to determine if the call should be blocked. If the number matches a number in the blocked fax numbers list, the fax is not printed. Set the junk fax mode By default, Block Junk Fax mode is turned On. If you do not subscribe to a caller ID service through your phone provider, or do not want to use this feature, you can turn off this setting. To set the junk fax mode ▲ Some models have a Block Junk Fax button. Depending on the model you have, do one of the following: • Block Junk Fax button: Press the Junk Fax Blocker button, select the Block Junk Fax option, and then select On or Off. • Color display menu: Press Setup, select Basic Fax Menu, select Junk Fax Blocker Setup, select Block Junk Fax, and then select On or Off. Add numbers to the junk fax list There are two ways to add a number to your junk list. You can select numbers from your caller ID history, or you can enter new numbers. The numbers in your junk list are blocked if Block Junk Fax mode is set to On.
If you answer the call, the number (or number and name) stays on the display until either you or the caller hangs up.
If
you do not answer the call, most display units keep a record of the
calls received, including the phone number (or number and name), date,
and time.
If the letter P, priv, private, or a similar term appears, the caller may have blocked the display of his or her number.
If the letter O, ????, out of area,
or a similar message appears, the caller either is in an area that does
not support Caller ID or has placed the call using operator assistance.
Caller
ID comes with Anonymous Call Rejection, which, when active, allows you
to reject calls from callers who block their number. Your phone does
not ring, and the caller hears a message saying blocked calls will not
go through.
To turn on Anonymous Call Rejection, press
*77 on a touch-tone phone (or dial 1177 on a rotary phone)
To turn off this service, press
*87 on a touch-tone phone (or dial 1187 on a rotary phone)
or go through http://www.decommunications.com/support/topics/repairs/phone/no-id-name.php
If you dial *67 and the number it should block the call. You can also call your phone company .. sprint etc and they will gladly permanently block the number for you.
