remove the scanner glass & remove the scanner glass alignment black & white sticker clean it with white cotton white should be bright white then fix the same with the same position & try upgrade the firmware

I could not find a scanner error 2.
But frequently the scanners in these units require replacement. Unless you have it under maintenance contract the cost of repairs could be prohibitive in a unit this old.

The all-in-one has experienced an internal hardware error.

1. Turn off the power by using the power switch, and then wait at least 30 seconds.
2. If a surge protector is being used, remove it. Plug the all-in-one directly into the wall socket.
3. Check the FFC connection between the formatter and the scanner.
NOTE Do not bend or fold the FFCs during the removal or reinstallation process.
4. Try connecting the product to a different power source or surge protector.
5. Turn on the power and wait for the all-in one to initialize.
6. If the error persists, replace the laser scanner assembly.

its a very common error in this printer. The error its usually in the step motor that moves the escaner. Its the same motor used in other printers such as 3052, 3055, 2820, 2840. Or you can buy it in any electronic house just looking at the code

SOLUTION FOR HP 3055 SOFTWARE INSTALL ERROR!

THE METHOD:
Search for file "DPINST.LOG" on your computer. This will show you specifically what ERRORS are taking place. Download missing files then copy to the unzipped software folder. Which is most likely

my hp 3052 suddenly stops, and there is a display "scanner error 6,turn off then on" Of course i did turn off and on several times but it keeps on coming back.
