Caller ID suddenly stopped working on our KX-TG5771 cordless sets

We have one base set and three sateliites and on Nov 23, caller ID suddenly stopped on all four. We have a fifth unrelated phone that still shows caller ID so we know it isn't the phone company

I have had similar problem the way I solved it .
Unplug all units from ac
Take out all batterys
unplug phone line.

Put back in reverse order .
They allways seem to work after.

I have noticed that if the phones are charged on the wrong stations they seemed to get confused for some reason.
Hope this helps

Thanks, it worked! I wasn't sure what "reverse order" meant, but I started with the main base (plugged in phone cord, then power), then just went one by one -- plugged in power cord, then put the batteries in and put the phone back on to the charger.

Ann also check with your telephone line provider for the land line calls that the subscribed service has been activated that forwards the calling line identity to your land phone line. Could be it somehow has become lost accidentally by the phone company.

It would be worth them checking it has not fallen off your subscriber settings to eliminate it as a possible cause)

How do you turn off talking caller ID on panasonic kx-tg4032?

This feature lets you know who is calling

without looking at the display.

To use this feature, you must:

- subscribe to a Caller ID service of

your service provider/telephone

company.

- turn this feature on (page 24).

When caller information is received, the

handsets and base unit announce the

caller's name or phone number received

from your service provider/telephone

company following every ring.

The unit announces in English only.

L Name pronunciation may vary. This

feature may not pronounce all names

correctly.

L Caller ID service has a limit of how

many characters can be displayed. If

the caller's name is too long, the

handset may not be able to display or

announce the entire name.

L The announcement is heard at the

same level as the ringer volume (page

16, 23).

L If you turn on the answering system

and set the number of rings "2

rings" (page 36), the unit does not

announce the caller information. If

"Toll saver" is selected and there

is a new message, the unit does not
announce the caller information.

It would be worth contacting your service provider to determine if your subscriber settings for the caller ID service are active.

You might unplug the base station for a few seconds and then plug it back in. It might restore the function.

KX-TG9344

This is the info from the users manual, it seems a bit strange,
but claims if you set the number of rings before it answers, (for the answering system) to "2" it will stop the audible caller ID.
Here it is from the manual.

If you turn on the answering system
and set the number of rings “2” (page
38), the unit does not announce the
caller information. If “Toll saver” is
selected and there is a new message,
the unit does not announce the caller
information.
When you receive a call while on the
phone, the 2nd caller’s name is not
announced even if you subscribe to
both Caller ID and Call Waiting with
Caller ID services

CALLER ID-CANNOT SET IT

there really shouldn't be anything to set up. if you have another caller id box or phone, try plugging that in to the phone jack first checking for dial tone, then the caller id. if neither are working, call your phone company. if only the caller id is still not working, ask your phone company if it is activated.
hope this helps.
