SOURCE: can't watch my burned dvd's on dvd player

You must get software that makes the DVD into a format compatible with ya DVD player. get software that will encode whatever ya have into the right format such as ConvertXtoDVD D/L link here. www.shareup.com/ConvertXtoDVD-download-44697.html This proggy takes whatever Movie etc that ya have and converts it into a DVD Player format that can be used in PC & on DVD players..

SOURCE: My Lite On DVDRW will not recognize any audio cd's...

Hi PhxROcker,

In these drives there are two lasers and two pick-up sensors. Normally in a combined head. One set is used for the DVD and the other is used for the CD. From you description it sounds like the optical sensor for the CD laser has expired! When you place a CD into the drive a small amount of information is read by the drive that identifies the disc type, manufacturer, it's status, capacity etc. If the drive cannot read this then it thinks nothing is present.

If you insert a disc does the LED on the front the the unit flash a few times while it spins the disc. Does it do this repeatedly? If it fails to read the disc does the LED stop blinking and the drive no longer spins the disc? If this is the case then your drive may indeed be faulty.

Sorry I could not be of any further assistance.

Regards,

Spare head 2.

Hi.

You need to burn your CDs in Audio format. That means that you cannot just burn your MP3 or WMA files, but you need to use the program which can convert those files to WAV format and write them so that ordinary CD players can reproduce them. Nero is such a program, among others.

Audio cuts in and out on a lite-on dvdrw shm-165h65

sounds like a codec problem during the conversion from avi to dvd. Try a different burning software program. Try this...instead of burning the conversion...try watching it instead...on the computer...if the volume problems exist there, then it is a software issue...

My acard technology pro burns dvds but the target dvds end up all scratchy like quality the pixels move and everything

is resolutions pixel problem only on the dvd disks you burn?
you might have to save the dvd to a file first then burn it to a dvd
are you copyning from another dvd or from a saved file ??
you might be burning it as data
this might be a problem with the quality of the dvd disks you are using or might be the software you are using there are lots of free burning sofrware programs on the internet
this might be because you have not selected the option to burn an audio or data dvd or your burning software does not support dvd burning
there are plenty of free burning software programs on the internet

DVDBackup is intended to let you exercise your "fair use" rights under copyright law to either "time-shift" or "space-shift" DVD content which you may have purchased legitimately.
An example of time-shifting would be to temporarily store the data from a DVD you rented so as to watch it at a later time after you have returned the disc (and avoided late fees!). An example of space-shifting would be to copy one or more DVD discs to your laptop hard drive so as to watch them while on a long airplane flight. Another way that you could use DVDBackup would be to modify or excerpt sections of the DVD video and audio to create your own movies.

It is running very slow . It can't read a little bit old cd\ dvd. When a cd/dvd is inserted system has encounted a problem amd hang up for several minutes .............. and it can't burn disc...

This sounds like a simple problem to fix. You need to get a cd/dvd cleaner disk and place it in the drive. Allow the disk to perform as indicated by the audio instructions included on the disk. All modern lens cleaning disks have the audio instructions that play as the disk is in the machine, so that the customer knows what to do, and in what order to do it in.

After running the disk, get a NEW blank cd, and try to burn some files onto it. If it works right, then that was all that was wrong, if not, then you have corrupted firmware, which is also a relatively easy procedure to fix. Just go to the drive manufacturers website and download the latest firmware fore your drive.

Playing recordable dvd

My Emerson won't play anything except DVD Movies, never has, wasn't suppose too. Make your movies in DVD Video format and it will read them fine (unless it's broke). I make movies all the time and play them back in mine. It reads DVD-R, DVD+R, and in duel layered. It will not read RW disks!

Man I've every problem you can imagine with DVD Players. I've found when the disk gets stuck, as long as it's not jammed. You can turn the unit off or unplug it. Plug it back in but DON'T TURN IT ON! Instead hit the eject button and the drive should open the drive without trying to read the disk.

Watching wmv files on DVd

MPEG-2 video is the file format you’ll need to convert to, but you cannot simply burn the MPEG-2 to a DVD and automatically play it in a DVD player.
The easily way is to buy software that will make the transition smooth; I recommend VSO Convert to DVD.
