You might be able to view it by paying for quicktime pro, but i suggest downloading VLC media player. Plays most non Mac type files.

iphoto is just for still photos. Use a card reader to download your videos to a folder you create on your desktop. Double click on the video and Quicktime will play it. You can use imovie to edit it.

Initially, it would work better if you can provide the specific model numbers of the Sony Mini DV Cam and the Archos. Assuming all things even, most DV cameras have an analog A/V video OUT, in turn some Archos with recording capability have an analog A/V video IN. If this were the case, then it would be a matter of getting the right connectors/plugs + cable and/or adapter/interface.
