Actually, this would be a good idea, however, I have a universal remote, and my son says none of the RCA codes work, and I am illiterate when it comes to technology. Not to mention my son accidentally put some sort of lock on tv where now he can't even change channels, or volume...called FPA lock? I think those are the letters, but not sure of order. Someone sent me the manual for tv...but hard to do without a control that works. We just want to know how to unlock tv..now...ugh! That is an additional prob since i wrote...but original prob was how can we hook up xbox without a remote...tv has NO input buttons to push as others have suggested...maybe it can't be done. Thank u so much to the person who sent us this answer...wish it worked for us :(

Just get a cheap universal remote, and program it to the TV. Some TVs don't have the dedicated buttons to switch inputs, without the remote.

SOURCE: Is there an input select?

I can view channels but cannot view a DVD from the TV/DVD Disney Princess Combo. Only see static on the screen with no sound. I wonder if I need to change the input select to view a movie but cannot find a button on the TV or remote control. I have a 6 button remote which I am sure operates the DVD and another remote with 39 buttons I thought would operate the player as well as the TV. However, so far only the player functions from it. The buttons only have small pictures without words which sometimes leaves some question about purpose. This is a second hand unit. I do not have a manual. It did play movies at first. I think the trouble may have started when I programed cable channels. Any help will be greatly appreciated

SOURCE: Can't find the input/video channel for my Emerson TV

universal remotes are tricky, if you have the pamphlet, often times there are several codes for each brand. you have to try all the emerson codes for your universal even tho the power, volume and channel functions may work with several emerson codes, some of these specialized buttons (like input) may only work on your TV with one specific code.

also, if there are any unlabeled buttons on the universal try them with each new emerson code.

What Channel should my Durabrand Old Model TV be on for playing Xbox 360 you see it Those not have a Red Video Input on the Tv to Play my Xbox 360

The good news is that the red cable is one of the audio channels. Your tv is mono and will work fine without the red cable. You need to hit the input button on your remote or your tv. You can also try hitting the channel down button. Once you get past channel 2 or 3, it should go to the inputs. I hope this helps.

I have an esa tv model EF420E. What channel does it need to go on in order to watch DVD's and play on the Xbox?

I assume you have the DVD or XBox connected to the composite video or S-video ports on the EF420E. These can only be accessed with a remote control that has an Input button. The original remote had the Input button near the middle of the remote on the right side of the remote. Pressing it allowed you to toggle between TV, Video 1, and Video 2. If you do not have the original remote or the remote's Input button doesn't work, you need a replacement remote or an universal remote with an Input button. (Many of the cheapest universal remotes don't have this feature button included.) A replacement remote is available from http://remotes.com/store/esa/ef420e.html . They have the original remote and a guaranteed to work alternative. If you choose to get another universal remote, you may need to try multiple codes until the Input button works for your TV. (Try Funai codes, if ESA isn't a listed manufacturer.)

The ESA EF420E was built by Funai. The manual is available from Funai Service: http://www.funai-corp.com/support/manuals.aspx . The direct link to the manual is http://www.funai-corp.com/support/om/EF420E.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Can I get to the input mode without the original remote?

If the TV ahs a "Menu" or "Setup" button on its front panel, you can select the input option by entering into its menu options. If there is no such button on its front panel, you must have a remote control to select its inputs.

TV turns on but flashes 'No Signal'. What can I do to get a signal?

Well, it depends on what you're doing. If you want to watch tv then you will have to plugin your cables from your cable box or from your home's wall ports. If you're looking to just get anything to play like a xbox or apple tv then simply plug the necessary cables in and then go to the correct input on your television (if it has that option) using the "input"button on your tv or remote. Hopefully that helps.

I need to configure the settings on my Samsung TX-R2035 TV so i can play my Xbox 360 on it. I don't know what all these abbreviations are, though. Help?

If you use the yellow, red, white jacks, these are called RCA jacks.
The tv should have these. Some have two sets of these. Make sure yours are hooked up to input or a/v So run xbox cords to tv input or a/v jacks.
Then turn on your tv and turn it to input or a/v channel
Some tv remotes have an input button on them

If you have any other questions just ask.
