I have a superman tv/dvd combo which was working fine. It fell on the floor and now only plays the dvd's in black and white. I don't have cable attached to the tv but the "screensaver" page is in color when the unit is turned on. I tried every button on the remote control thinking one of the kids may have changed a setting but can't get the color back. I don't know if a wire may have come loose but am hesitant to open the unit unless I know what I am looking for.
Finally figured this out. On your remote push tv menu until you get to function. You should automatically be under col.sys. change this to NTSC. Took me awhile to get remote to work here, ended up pushing in the middle of the red vol +,- bar on the right of the remote. Couldn't find the right button according to the directions on the screen. DVD is now in color!! If you are not already on the option to change col.sys, use the red channel up down bar on the left of the remote.
I put the dvd disc inside the dvd play and it is saying, "no disc." So then I put a music cd inside the dvd player and it played the music. Why will it not play the dvd?
We had the same problem, the dvd's would play black and white, it took us about 2 months to figure out my son had changed something in the settings, I don't remember exactly what he did but it was something in the menu settings, if your screensaver is in color it's probably the same issue we had.

Has anybody figured out what's wrong the dvd player yet? I recently started having the same problem and tried every button on the remote. Tried to find the directions at home and online but can't find any. Everything else is in color.
My daughter's DVD player in the TV will only play black and white, does any one know what to do about this?
