I can't installed it

Windows XP should load drivers for the card automaticly, you may want to upgrade you system to SP3 if you havent already, Go in BIOS before start up and uninstall your onboard Audio driver under Onboard Periferals, click disable/turn it off, If you have an XP instulation cd you may be able to point windows to the Legacy driver.

Today i installed windows xp x64 edition to my desktop pc.I have a soundblaster 5.1 sound card. I've tried to install its drivers. But setup program says''Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster card on...

make sure the card is plugged in properly...also make sure you have installed the latest service pack for xp64 bit...because it requires the latest service pack to be installed on the system, only then the sound card will get detected...

for xp 32 bit edition... at least sp2 with Microsoft UAA driver update for sound card must be installed in your computer...

Need sound card driver

Hi Rana,

Assuming you're running Windows XP or 2000, you can download the PCI 128 Sound Card Driver Installation programs here:

http://support.creative.com/downloads/download.aspx?nDownloadId=255. (They are free of charge, of course).

When you launch the program, it detects your operating system information and automatically installs the appropriate drivers.

If you're running something other than Windows XP or 2000, go here: http://support.creative.com/Downloads/searchdownloads.aspx to find additional driver installation packages.

Hope this helps, and enjoy the sound and music!

Gail :-)

Problem with Windows XP recognizing Creative Sound Card

It sounds like a software problem. Though you did the right thing by entering the bios & disabling the onboard sound. That should have been enough. Did you uninstall the old intergrated sound drivers before adding the 24bit card? Just about all the drivers & upgrades for your 4600 through Dell is Creative software & thats why your having a tough time. I would put everything back to how it was. Re-enable the intergrated sound & reboot! Run system restore & check that every thing is running right!! Look at this dell web site for the sound drivers you have at this link:
    http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=DIM_P4_4600&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=
If you must, install a upgrade for your intergrated sound. Just so you can uninstall it after a reboot. Re disable the sound in the bios. Do not install your new card yet. While back in windows device manager you should be missing a PCI device. Shut down install the new sound card. Hopefully windows will want the drivers & all runs fine. If still no it could be a bad card (i know what your thinking but it's possible). The only thing left is the regestry is using the wrong PCI device.
