My LCDTV has a problem, Model number is 6626LCT, Now on to the problem, While doing yearly cleaning on my tv as normal, after i plugged it in it was normal for 40 seconds, It flickered and the screen went from Black to white on the input menu. while watching TV it's weird, All the other colors, Red,brown, green, blue, etc turn up fine, It's just the black that has the problem, Like i mentioned before Black is now white, or a fuzzy mix of red, yellow, white, green, or one of each on it's on, The TV has One faded line near the left of the screen, but its faded and not noticeable, The screen still works and you can watch tv, But the edeges of objects are

Now the TV is still white but it flickers in the input menu(no signal)menu, It's flickering like it did when the colors were messed up when it went white from black, Iv'e noticed the TV does not show darker colors, but light colors Show up fine, Such as skin,Red,white, etc, When it comes to black it gets a fuzzy rainbow color or sometimes just a solid pixel like of colors, but only on the edges of say a person, or the wheel well of a car or the shadow, or a pupil on a eye, Everything else is normal(that's not an edge), but when ever there is a very bright screen, or picture, All this goes away and everything shows up fine. But the side of the screen remains white when it's supposed to be black. And i noticed something extremely weird, when you open the menu and it's partialy full screen, everything seen through the menu screen goes back to normal, No fuzzy colors, white from before is now black, things you watch from any kind of brightness show up normal.. I do not know what it is, i have never experienced this type of phenomenon before with a HDTV..Or any flat screen technology.. Especially one that fixes it self when you have the menu screen over it.

Only suggestion is if set was plugged in when you did what you did--unplug it and any box or receiver plugged in and wait a while--plug back and let the equipment try to reboot.

based on what you have said the issue is related to the main board which processes all signal in the set and directs it to the screen--what I would call some sort of digital processing issue----the issue may cause it to have less of a problem with menu etc as are generated inside the set.---if you took this set apart a plug or cable may have come loose--if look again--look for one that is secured/taped where it plugs into a board.

SOURCE: vertical lines across my entire screen

My 42" Samsung Plasma HDTV HP-R4252 has a 2" vertical strip of green pixels down the right side of the screen.

My 3 year warranty with Circuit City expires in Nov 2008.. so I hope I'm covered.. can't call until the morning.

Samsung said it might be a logic board problem.. but they want almost $2000 to fix. I might as well buy another TV if Circuit City can't fix it.

SOURCE: DVD plays only in black and white

Hey, I had this problem on Thanksgiving Day, trying to watch a dvd on my mother's HDTV. You should be able to hook up most standard dvd players to hdtvs. First you have 3 cords, mine were red, yellow, and white. The connections go as follows:

HDTV:
Audio| Component. The white cord should be in a white audio slot. The yellow cord should be in a yellow component slot (video) and the red cord should be in a red video component slot labeled Pr/Cr. Make sure you match the component numbers. For instance, if you want to use component one, then hook all of the cords into the slots for component one. Most hdtvs have multiple component hookups ( think multiple "channels" for your game system, dvd player, etc) so it's important that the corresponding cords go to the correct component slots.

DVD:
Match the yellow and white cords to the appropriately colored slots. The red cord should go into the slot labeled component video out Cr/Pr. Not the red audio out. This worked for me. Hope this helps.

I have a Conia LCDTV model CLCD3278 thats sat for a couple of years.I have plugged it in, light goes from RED to BLUE, and screen changes slightly, no image or menu, Any way to do a reset on the TV?

More likely you have a build up of dust and crud on the circuit boards. MAKE SURE TV IS UNPLUGGED AND SAFE BEFORE TRYING ANY REPAIRS. If you are able, take the back off and give it a good clean and a blow out. You can purchase a spray can of pressurised air for this. Look online. Use a sort dustpan brush or large paint brush to gently free up dust and crud. Take care not to knock or dislodge any components or cables. No wet wiping. Keep it dry at all times. Once this is done, replace the cover. AFTER cover is replaced, then plug it in and give it a go.

Model 6626lct turns picture off in ten minutes.

This can happen for 2 reasons. One is that some TVs are equipped with a set up that will turn the set off if no input source is detected ( cable, antenna etc...) Check all connections. The most likely cause is the TIMER settings. Use your remote to access your menu, then TV settings, then into Timer (sleep timer). Set the sleep timer function to off ( or "0" on and "0" off) This should do it.

Hi, how can i fix the problem of my tv that turns on and off

Unplugging a set for at least 20 seconds then plugging it back in only resets the microcomputer in your TV. This sometimes does help, but a lot of cases it does not.

It's likely your set needs a new SMPS power supply. Goto this link for a model search:

http://www.encompassparts.com/

Click on the GUEST LOGIN link on the right hand side of page in a blue bar. Once after logging in, you can then do a model search. If your model does not come up, then goto the CONTACT INFO page for phone numbers and start calling. Someone there maybe able to help you find the part needed to get your set up and running again. First part you should try replacing is the SMPS power supply board.

Good Luck

How do i set my acer travel mate 2312lm to 1440 by 900 pixel so i can work my lcd tv

**Your Laptop has VGA port for connecting external monitors :

Laptop Video Specs :

Laptop's Max Resolution1024 x 768
Integrated Video card : SiS Mirage M661MX

NOTE : If LCDTV does not have a VGA port, you will not be able to use it a external monitor.

Steps :
1. Connect Laptop to LCDTV using a VGA Cable
2. Right-click on your desktop and select "Properties." (or click on start > Control Panel > Display)
3. A new window displaying several tabs will appear. Select the tab called "Settings."
4. You will see boxes with numbers on the middle, in your case 1 and 2 will be present.

ecb2d59.gif

5. Click on 2 and click on box beside "Extend my windows Desktop onto this monitor" then choose the resolution that you like (1440 by 900) then click on apply. If 1440 by 900 is not available, choose the closest under 1440 by 900. Don't go over 1440 by 900 since that is the max value that will work on you LCD TV.

6. After clicking on Apply, the display should be present on the LCD TV. (The disply is an extended desktop so you will not see the start button nor the taskbar on the LCD TV. but it should have the same wallpaper. You can Drag the windows to the LCDTV. This will serve as an extension of you desktop. (Ex : You can watch movie on the LCDTV and you can do documents on the laptop's screen at the same time).
