How do you chage heater core on 1998 buick park ave

  • Lift the hood and prop it open. Makes sure the engine is cold. Disconnect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench or box wrench. Avoid using open-end wrenches on the battery terminals, as they tend to strip the bolt heads.
  • 2Place a drain pan under the radiator. Open the radiator cap. Open the radiator drain on the bottom of the radiator and the two coolant drains near the oil pan. You can reuse the coolant unless it appears cloudy and contaminated. Close all three drain openings once all the coolant has drained from the system.
  • 3Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses of the heater core inside the engine compartment using a socket wrench. Be prepared to catch or wipe up any coolant that drips from these hoses. Drain the coolant from inside the heater core.
  • 4Unscrew and remove the lower instrument panel sound insulator from below the dashboard on the passenger side. Use a socket or screwdriver to loosen and remove the screws on the heater floor outlet. Remove the clips and take out the duct.
  • 5Loosen and remove the screws holding the heater core cover in place. Remove the cover.
  • 6Remove the retaining bolts holding the heater core in place. Remove the heater core.

Probably a 15 to 20 amps..If you use the cigarette lighter does it also blow the fuse ,you may have a short in the circuit..It should be able to handle the GPS..Dont increase the fuse size, you can cause bigger problems

Fuse keeps blowing.even after i replaced the cig. Lighter why

Main cause could be something stuck in the lighter socket. Sometimes, the ends of the car charger for a cell phone of GPS will separate, leaving the end in the socket itself. Placing the cigarette lighter back int he socket while there's something already in the socket will cause you to blow a fuse.

I have a cigarette lighter that went out on my 1999 Buick Century. How do you install a cigarette lighter? Thanks, Brian.

    Hi,
There are 2 types of lighter (DC) outlets. One has a plastic sleeve around it and it clips into the cavity. The other has an outer metal sleeve and the inside portion screws into it. Both can be changed by accessing behind where the socket is located. Once you can get your hand behind it, detach the wire clipped to the socket, (sometimes 2 wires, one on the socket sleeve and one coming out of the back) then either press the clips in on the outside sleeve and push the assembly out, or hold the outer portion with the hand behind the socket (use a glove or rag to hold on to it better and not slice up your hand) and use a pair of needle nose pliers to grip the inside of the socket form the outside and unscrew the socket from its sleeve. Assembly is in reverse. Mike

My grandpa has a 1992 Buick Park Avenue. The cigarette lighter on the dashboard does not work, but all of the other ones do. It is the hole part that is the problem because the plug works in the other...

Cigarette lighters wear out from use. On the front of the hole where the lighter goes there is a retaining ring that is threaded onto the lighter socket. Unscrew the ring and the lighter socket can be removed from the dash. Disconnect the wire from the back of the socket and replace the lighter assembly with a new one, Don't forget to plug the wire up to the back of the new one.

My dash light went out on my 1990 buick century.

Find your fuse box, read the cover and find the cigarette lighter and match the drawings with the arrangement of the fuses, when you find it, pull it out and check if blown out or open circuit, then replace it with a the same value of amp. ok

How do I remove and replace the cigarette lighter socket on a 1998 Buick Riviera

The entire trim around the ash tray/cigarette lighter pulls forward, allowing access to the rear of the lighter socket. Remove the electrical connection and then turn the retainer counter-clockwise. The socket removes from the front. Reinstall reversing the procedure.
