How to enable WLAN again

I have just installed a W200 Multiport WLAN and installed the older driver to get rid of the Dreaded Blue Screen of Death, but kept picking up a weaker neighborhood signal as opposed to my own wireless network, so I stupidly hit the "disable" button without thinking and can not find where to enable the Multiport again. Any help ???. Thanks, Bigdawg

NO OS stated, XP?
posting any PC with out OS , is just a waste of your time
and ours, why do that.?
14 Windows, and more Linux.
must we just guess.?

and ask there, where they will damand that.

W200 Multiport WLAN
from whom, and what model it it, ???? we cant guess modifications ever.

if all parts are from HP, say so.
at HP , (we are no HP they are)
they PC came new with W98 or XP
now i cant guess that can I , both are now dead OS>
but lucky you HP forgot to erase this support page.
lets pretend you said its XP 64bit
and you then read the offical page at HP guess what there are 9 chips used, for networking.
no all are WLAN.
but no lie the SP12345.exe file that runs zero error
is the correct one, (nice HP feature that)
so here it is,
no need to hunt and get a virus, the real thing is still there.

Basically "disconnect" WiFi and then reconnect but select which one, in your case yours. You might have to enter a password if you have set up such I should be good to go.
For more detailed and specific information I would need to know more such as operating system device types Etc.

SOURCE: multiport w200 wireless goes to blue_screen with belkin G+ router

http://www.fixya.com/support/t612983-blue_screen_hp_wlan_multiport_w200 seems to have the solution.

It says:

Rollback the W200 driver to version 1.00C. Subsequent drivers are incompatible with XP SP2.

Unfortunately, WPA support came in version 1.00E, so W200 + XpSp2 = no WPA support. :(

I removed my wirelss drivers and compaq wireless client software, then installed the older driver from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=hb-13082-1&lc=en&cc=fr&dlc=en&os=228&product=235687&lang=en which is sp23031. This seems to have worked. s.gif

Hi Guys. Compaq Evo N610C equipped with Wlan Multiport w200. Can not connect to equipment using WPA2 encryption. Do you know a solution ???? Thanks

Yes you have to go to your internet's routers web setting page and change your settings from whatever you have now to WEP and follow these instructions.
Sup guys i found the cure to this horroble blue screen death for this N610c. Ok i called hp and they wanted $69.99 for tech support well just imagine what i told them to do lol. Anyway i did my research and guess what i found out. That the updated driver is made to screw up your connection so that you have to call tech support and they can steal your money.
Im a computer technician since 1990 and what i discover was that beautiful driver that works here is a list of drivers that cannot be used on the Evo N610C because it causes conflits that no one can fix i know for sure.
List of the no no drivers are:
These drivers will make your screen go from windows to BLUE.
sp29156
sp28252
sp29156
Here is how i fixed the problem i deleted everything that had to do with LANMultiport drivers every single one then i searched my laptop to remove the rest of the lost files.
Once that was done the i installed this driver (sp23031)
Once that was installed and the puter rebooted the wifi card found my wireless connection and asked me to input my Network Key and walla it works great now without any problems.
Im using windows XP Home i just bought memory cause im installing windows 7 32 bit.

Finally the key is this driver (sp23031) for both home and pro eddition.
Here is the link to download your driver:

It works! Please hit me up a feedback

W200 cause a blue screen

First of all: If you install SP2 you don't have to install SP1 over it. It already did. Secondly, don't install SP3, it destroys Windows XP.
Try reinsalling the PC with SP2, install the drivers and do nothing else, see if that helps.

If not, by all means post back here,
Yannick.

Check your router config for wireless "N". if it's there, disable it. You can also use the driver on the compaq to go back to the install of driver 1.0c

Wlan W200 connection problem

There is a solution to this, and you won't have to buy a new card. The folks at HP, however smart in their design of this laptop, have not properly updated the bug fix for the wlan w200 drivers. What you'll need to do is actually take back your network adapter driver all the way back to Version 1.0 revision C. I did this with an n610c that I got for free because it was BSOD'ing every time the wireless was turned on. For the most part the wireless can handle older routers and wlan areas, but will BSOD when within range of a wireless "N" adapter. Simply download the driver version 1.0c and you should have no more issues.

Tip: You can disable the card manually by pressing your "Fn + F2" keys, rather than trying to navigate your menus before getting the BSOD.

WLAN Multiport W200 not connecting to wireless network

Anyone who has this problem: the problem is with the W200 driver that HPclaims you should use. Download this driver instead and your problems should be fixed:
