Is it possible to reverse the drive lever on the invacare lynx scooter as my dad only has use of left arm. At the moment he has to push lever towards him very awkwardly. It would be much easier to simply push lever forward. Hope someone can help. Mark.

Hi Mark.

Reversing the polarity:There are 3 wires on the Wig Wag Assembly. (reverse the wig-wag function) simply de-solder the 2 outer wires & swap their position & re-solder.I would seek a price for doing the job from an approved scooter repairer, unless you are comfortable doing the job yourself.I hope this has helped,Colin

SOURCE: need to change mobility scooter controls back to right handed

Open up the front shroud (unhook batteries first) and switch the wires going to the throttle pod, its just 2 thin wires and if they were switched already you will probably be able to switch them back. The throttle pod is what the thumb throttle lever is hooked up to.

SOURCE: little gem mobility scooter brake not working properly

The throttle part has slip round, a way to test this is to put hte buggy in reverse slightly and it shoud stop, meaning that how much the throttle has slipped round. Take the top cover off and there should be a allen screen on the throttle stem, undo and readjust.

SOURCE: have Invacare Auriga 4 scooter about 2yrs old Put

Hi. I have had a few scooters that have had this problem after sitting for a while. The brake lining is stuck to the body of the brake assembly. When the brake is energised by the controller, it can't release.
De-clutch the machine like you did, and try rocking the machine back and forth. If this doesn't work you might have to have a new brake assembly fitted.
The wheels turn in opposite directions, because the drive is through the differential unit in the rear axle. Even a car will do this if the driving axle is raised in the air.
I have also had a few cases of stuck motor brushes in these machines, but from your description, I would say it is the brake assembly.
Good luck. Neil.

Testimonial: "It was a frozen brake. I took the brake to pieces,a lot of little springs spacers indent springs and rollers jumped out. Cleaned all components and spent a few hours figuring it out for re assembly. Working fine now . Thanks for your prompt and accurate reply. PeterR"

Alarm sound all the time when switch on

Hi, that normally happens when the scooter is in freewheel mode, now double check the lever located at the rear, okay having done that , disconnect the axle from the main frame, check the connection here are clean and touching , if it's a plug remove the plug stray in some contact cleaner , refit making your it 's a tight fit,

Still got the problem then check the micro switch located near the freewheel lever , normally located on the brake mech , make sure it connecting when the freewheel lever is moved.

My Lynx L4 4-Wheel scooter green light flashing but it said it is charge it wont go forward

the green flashing light indicates an error with the scooter. Count the number of flashes 4 flashes pause 4 flashes pause etc and your manual should give you the meaning of the flashes Check to make sure that you are not in freewheel move the lever at the back of the scooter up and down a few times and make sure you leave it in drive mode turn on the power and see if the light stops flashing and the scooter will operate correctly Hope this helps

Scooter beeps when revrse lever depress but will not travel in reverse..

Hi. This problem is usually caused by stuck or worn brushes in the motor.
Can sometimes be caused by worn or incorrect adjustment on the speed lever ( wig wag ).
Also check all battery lead connectors, and all motor lead connectors.
Good luck. Neil.

New battery. hooked up correctly. But, scooter will still barely go in reverse super slow. forward speed slow .can throttle cable be problem/ when I push inside of speed lever it moves faster. pushing ends...

Hi. Did the machine used to operate properly in the past? Sometimes previous owners or technicians have changed the programme for owners for different uses. What you describe sounds like a faulty throttle pot ( Wig Wag ). I have changed many throttle pots for this reason.
Also check battery and motor connectors.
Do you have another switch on the machine for controlling the speed, such as an indoor/outdoor switch? Good luck. Neil.
