Changed out struts but the rattling continues. In other forums I've read people have gone as far as replacing rack & pinion, steering column and lower steering box with no success. ANYONE have a fix for this irritating noise??
SOURCE: front end rattle
It's a loose steering column. Remove the black plastic shield under the steering wheel. Lossen the bolt that holds the two shafts together, slide them together as far as they'll go, and re-tighten the bolt. It's that simple... to stop that annoying rattle.

Check your u-joints in your front axles. It sounds like it is time to replace them.
SOURCE: I have a 2006 chevy
On my cobalt (same platform) there is a known bad engine mount that clunks (like you have bad shocks) when you go over bumps.
If you look under the car from the front, you can see its a circle, (supposed to be ) filled with a rubber/composite bushing. They crack and this causes the banging.
It is supposed to look like this...
However, the rubber breaks off and your engine is flopping around.
This part needs a press to press out the old piece, so a mechanic would be the best repairman for the job.
The scraping noise is a different problem. I would suggest CV joints, but being a 2006, they shouldnt be bad unless you tow, or accelerate heavily.
I would lean toward a bad wheel bearing with the symptoms you are describing - also a job that requires a press.
You're in for quite a bill!
Figure $250 each wheel bearing and another 100 or so to fix the mount.
Dealership would be 2x that.
Good Luck!!
SOURCE: how do i change a rack and pinion bellow on a 98
The bellows is just a dust cover. If fluid is leaking from the bellows, the rod seal is bad. It's usually cheaper to replace the rack than it is to rebuild it.

I had it at a local AAA shop for a whole day and they said the suspension is solid but could not pin point the rattling noise.
Had a mechanic do the job and when he tightened the nuts on top, snapped one stud off so had to replace the bushing and strut plate on the passenger side. What is throwing me is the noise is still coming from that side and not the drivers side. Thank you for your reply!
