Ob Off Balance If the motor controller detects an unrecoverable off-balance condition, the machine controller will shut down and display an ob for Off Balance The lid switch must be opened at least once before restarting the cycle, if this condition occurs. Opening the lid will allow the customer to view and redistribute the load.
if this does not fix the issue it is most likely the strut and shock system that is falty on the machine. you could replace them yourself but they are fairly expensive

Whirlpool Calipso model clothes washer shows a LD and doesnt run

The OB indicates and out of balance condition has been detected by the motor control.
One thing about the OB error is that the lid must be opened to clear the error and allow the washer to advance to the next part of the cycle. If the lid is not opened to adjust the clothes then the OB error will happen again.

If the OB error was cleared and the OB occurs with an empty load then the motor control has failed.

The drain pump must work. The image below shows how to run a diagnostic test to check the drain pump. Follow the instructions in the image below and check the drain pump operation. If the pump runs and the water does not drain then the sump is clogged. If the pump hums but does not run then the pump needs to be replaced.

What does error code ob mean on a Whirlpool Calypso washer? The washer stops in mid cycle with the error code ob. I restart it and after a few minutes it shows the same error code again.

The OB indicates and out of balance condition has been detected by the motor control. You say this happens when the washer is empty also. One thing about the OB error is that the lid must be opened to clear the error and allow the washer to advance to the next part of the cycle. If the lid is not opened to adjust the clothes then the OB error will happen again.

Calypso GVW9959K washer with OB code

This is a common problem with the Calypso washers. The problem that you are having is related to the pump. There is something in the pump that is causing the error code to occur. Since the pump isn't working right all of the water isn't draining out thus causing it to be out of balance. If you can get down to the pump and check it out chances are you will find something in it. It might just be some fabric or string from clothing caught around the pump motor. Just make sure you clamp off the hoses or you will flood your laundry room. Once you clear out the pump unplug the washer and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in. Let me know if you have any other questions and let me know if this was helpful. Good luck and glad I could help.

Kenmore Calypso washer Ld code?

I just had the same problem. I borrowed my neighbors wet vac. The hose of the wet vac fit right over the end of the drain hose and I sucked out all the remaining water. My hope was that if the hose was clogged that it would clear it out. It seems that it worked. I put the drain hose back in the drain and turned on the extended spin cycle. It was working, so I put the water logged clothes back in the washer on the extended spin cycle and it took the water out. I am now in the process of washing another load to see if it really fixed the problem. I hope this helps.

LD and OB on Calypso

“Ld” flashes if it takes longer than 5 minutes to pump out water to a point where the operating
pressure switch resets.
Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

OB:
If the motor controller detects an unrecoverable off-balance condition, the machine controller
will shut down and display an “ob” for off balance.
The lid switch must be opened at least once before restarting the cycle, if this condition
occurs. Opening the lid will allow the customer to view and redistribute the load.
Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

Basically, it sounds like your drain pump is bad or clogged, and the extra water is throwing the spin cycle off balance

Ld and ob error codes

hello.........
“LD” stands for “long drain,” meaning it took an excessively long time for water to drain out of the washer. Common causes for this are kinked drain hose or clothing, like panties or socks, caught in the pump suction hose. Why, I’ve even heard of bra wires coming loose and getting stuck in that hose, collecting all sorts of gookus and pinching off the flow of water to the pump. Can you imagine? Yea verily, as surely as the Sacred Suds doth eternally pass my lips, the “LD” error code springs forth from such anomalies.
