The f connector is connected in the tuner, and the tuner will have to be replace, or a real go TV tech can solder a new connector to your tuner.

On most sets the tuner has to be removed for this to be done-a new fitting or a new tuner can be installed.

If the set has the standard RCA audio and video jacks for input you can hook a cable box or even an old VCR to those and BYPASS the coax fitting--hook up to those inputs--select them on the set and leave set on that input and change channels with the box or VCR.

Much cheaper than replacing the fitting and gives a better picture.

SOURCE: digital to analog converter box hookup

You will have to go to Radio Shack or Wall Mart, maybe Home Depot and get a matching transformer. That will have spade terminals on one end to connect to your tv and a round (75ohm male thread) to hook to your converter box.

Building your own Antennas

To build antennas for any frequency use formula L=234/Freq. Lets say 100 mhz. That would be L=2.34 feet or about 30 inches(close). Ok, Build a dipole antenna with a plastic insulator and 75 ohm Tv Coax. Take stiff alumnium rods or wire. Punch a hole into a plastic piece 4 inches apart. Insert Rods on both sides. Take shiny screws (Not Painted). attach Center Coax to Right side and Shield (ground) to Left side. Silicone these connections and use Black tape to wrap it good. Mount it on your Chimney or on a Tv pole 12-25 feet. Now, the coax coming into your house has to hook to your stereo by a 75 ohm match coil bought cheap at Electronic stores or Tv, radio supply stores. Attach coax by screwing it to coil and the two prongs screw to Back of your Fm Stereo. It will say ANT and GND. on back of Radio. You should pull in Fm stations better than indoor antennas and get farther away stations. It may have a 3 Db gain. Its the same for Cb radio --Just Use L=234/Freq. it comes to 8.5 feet(102 inches) Roughly. Its all Dipole Technology ..No Commercial antenna but will get decent results.

How do I switch from digital to antenna?

If you are in the U.S. all stations broadcast in digital. if you don't have a digital tv then you need a converter. So maybe you want to know how to go from cable to air antenna? You should be able to buy an antenna and roll of coax. Fasten the coax to the antenna and plug in to the back of the TV. Point the antenna in the direction of the tv station, I think some TV's may have a setting to air antenna, set to air. It should not receive a picture.

Hello, I also have an RCA G32705 unit, and I have a question for you. Although the unit has Video 1 and Video 2 ports on the back, the internal menu will not allow me to activate them. The only port...

Hi,
you must go on menu- set input signal and you must choose RGB or video in complex signal (1 or 2), not antenna or RF input. Coax input port is a RF input port. Your problem is only from tv menu ( input seting)

Which end is the receiving end of a house tv areial

peter_321

One end of the coax cable is connected to your antenna. The other end connects to a coax port on the back of the receiver labeled "TV/Antenna Cable In". All DISH Network receivers have this port on the back except our "K" series receivers. These receivers require a module to plug into the back of the receiver. Connect the antenna cable to this port, "TV/Antenna Cable In", if the receiver has the port available. I hope this helps.

Trouble with remote on second TV, not responding from back of house

Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. The TV2 remote (UHF) can work up to 200 feet from the receiver but can also get interference issues that cause it to not work consistently. One of the things that I recommend is to readdress the remote to the receiver and possible installing a pigtail to the remote antenna on the back of the receiver. I have this on one of my receivers and have never had an issue since. To troubleshoot try these steps:

Step 1: Verify correct Remote being used
Check that the remote matches the TV. Use remote key or sticker on remote to confirm. TV1 is located in the same room as your DISH receiver.
Step 2: Check that UHF Remote Antenna is Secure/Upright
If UHF, check that your UHF remote antenna is securely connected to the "Remote Antenna" port on the back of your receiver and that the antenna is upright.
Step 3: Address Remote
To SAT: Access "System Info" - press and release the "SAT" button then press the RECORD button on remote control. If unable to access System Info using the receiver, use "Video Frozen/Locked Up".
To TV/DVD/AUX: Check for current remote codes and address remote.
Step 4: Check that Remote Control Batteries are Fresh
Check that the you have recently replaced the batteries. If not, install new batteries.
Step 5: Reset Receiver
If the issue is only on ONE receiver, unplug the DISH receiver for 10 seconds and plug back in.
Please note: It may take up to 5 minutes for the reset process to be completed.

If you are still having an issue, to install a pigtail you will need a piece of Coax cable, approx. 3 feet long and a barrel connector. Remove the remote antenna from the back of the receiver, attach the coax cable to the receiver. At the other end of the coax cable insert the barrel connector and add the remote antenna. Then drape the coax cable behind and towards where the TV2 is located. It takes the remote antenna away from where all the electronics are, which are major causes of UHF interference. I hope this helps resolve your issue.

I can't get channel 3 to show satellite channels. They only show up on Video 3. I need channel 3 to work for surround sound. I checked wiring diagram and it looks like everything is hooked up the way it...

The only way this will show on channel three is to have the receiver connected via coax to the TV and since it is displaying on Video 3 it either is not or it is connected in more than one manner and the Coax port on either the receiver ot TV may be bad.

Lets just ensure that tha coax from the back of the receiver is attached to the CH3-4 out port and then run to the back of the TV. If the TV has a dual coax input it will need to be connected to the analog or antenna port.

If the receiver does not have a coax port for TV1 you can get an rf modulator to facillitate this conection.

If all else fails try taking the red and white cables that are connected to the TV from the receiver and connecting it to the surround directly.

I hope this assists you.

Thanks for using Fix Ya and being a valued Dish Network customer.

Lost installation instructions

First unplug your current antenna from your tv and plug it into the "Antenna In" coax port in the back of your converter box. Then take coax and run it from the only other coax place on your converter box back to where your antenna was previously hooked in on your tv. If after you run "scan" on your converter box it is saying " no signal " or "signal lost" or something along those lines, go to www.antennaweb.org to see what type of antenna will best fit your location then print it off and bring it to a local store that sells antennas, they should be able to direct you to the right one.

Digital box for analog tv not working

if you have the coax cable connections correctly connected , coax out to tv from box and antenna hooked to antenna in on the box then you may have to connect the RCA jacks, yellow = video , red = right audio , white = left or mono audio
because on these boxes you can choose in the menu to have the coax ( channel 3 or 4 ) as the output or the rca jacks ( line out )as the output . so the menu may be set for the rca jack connections untill you change it in the menu

Trying to hook up your DV220SL8 DVD/CD Video Cassette Recorder. I have an antenna coming in coax but there are no places to plug any of the jacks on the tv.

There are two ways of solving this problem
1.It seems to me that you need an RF Modulator Box. What this does is convert the RCA cables (Yellow,White,Red cables) into coax. You buy the box then plug you antenna and RCA cables into the box. The box has a coax output that goes to your TV. You can then switch from VCR\DVD to antenna.

2. I dont know if your VCR/DVD has it but try hooking up your antenna to the VCR coax INPUT and then hook up your TV to the coax OUTPUT. Both Coax INPUT and Coax OUTPUT should be on the back of the VCR/DVD device. Your going to need an extra Coax wire for this.

Hope this helps
