Disconnected water line below door and pressed lever at dispenser for water. Water does flow there with good pressure. i am suspicious that the water line in the door is freezing up when the ice cube drawer is full of ice cubes. This has happened now 4 times in the past 3 months. New water filters have been installed each time with no results until I lowered the temp of the freezer, dumped the ice cubes out of the drawer and allowed the freezer door to remain open for 10 minutes or more.
I also had the same water not dispensing problem. I checked this site and found useful tips. The first tip I tried worked. I left the freezer door open for 15 min and then held the water dispenser opened for about a minute and finally started to work. I did notice that a particle of ice did get flushed out. I have lowered the freezer setting to 3 and will monitor. This fridge is 5 years old and never had this problem and wonder why now. Is there a heater malfunction? The water is cooled in the fridge side behind the bottom drawers. Check this coiled tubing to ensure it is not kinked. I did notice that a larger hose beside the clear coiled hose is kinked however I don't know what is its purpose. Anyone know?
I found that the door on the GE side by side doors are not accessable and cannot be repaired if a water line inside the door is defective. The entire door must be replaced at a cost of almost $370. The problem, which seems to be quite common relative to the lack of water at the dispenser, is the result of the water tube in the door freezing due to excess cold levels in the freezing compartment. This is probabley due to poor insulation around the water line as in exits near the ice dispenser gate. The solution is simple, lower the freezing level and use water frequently to keep it from freezing. Also, keep the lines clean by changing the filter often if the local water source is laden with particulates. I think GE should foot the bill for changing doors or re-engineer the doors to access the area where the water line makes contact with the cold surface of the inside panal.

Same here, no water, but ice. If you press for water it come through the filter..actually it build up pressure there and fills a new empty filter with water, but water doesnt arrive at the door. Water hose under the fridge looks fine, there seems to be a hose connector between the hose coming from the filter and the hose from the door, but unsure how to disconnect and check the water flow there. But after a couple of hours of cursing the water starts to drip and finally came in a full stream again, and I haven't done anything than changing the filter....but this morning ...nada..no water again....so wondering how it looks inside the door and if the hose freezes there (and why suddenly now, the beast is only 6 years old). The icemaker was switched off and no ice was in the bin.
If the fridge wouldn't be that heavy and expensive, I would have thrown it out of the window.
thank you all for the helpfull tips. WORKED REALLY WELL.
when I call for water ,it will not come out of water dispenser. I checked coupling under door and have great water pressure. I have also disconnected water lines and pushed trimmer string up waterline inside door .
