My AMT mp3 doesn't load

I've got a new AMT mp3 yesterday, and i connected it to the PC and downloaded some songs to it.
now when i want to play it, it doesn't play. i tried to connect it to my pc in "off" position for a couple of hours, which i thought would may be load it, but it didn't turn on afterwards.
there is no "loading" indication on it while in "off" position. so i don't know what actually gets it to work.
when in "on" position, it only plays songs when connected to the PC.
thanks
Didier

I just got one of those myself. I think you have to let it charge up first, and I'm thinking it's not charged until the red light on the edge turns green. But don't know for sure yet. No directions came with it.

I got one of these, too. When I first install it, my virus checker reports that it has a "Trojan", then when I go to delete it it it can't. I got two and they also did not come with a manual. Through a few minutes of messing with it I have found that if you turn it "on" and press the "play" button simultaneously, you get what passeth for sound. (I just got better sound by playing with the headset). Heck, if you want quality, get a Neenie nonny Nano. But this thing works surprisingly well for what it is. Hey, it'll even play disco without complaint.

I have an off brand AMT MP3 player that does NOT have any sound when I plug in the earphone. Not sure if I deleted a file or program for the sound. It will work when attached to the USB

Have a generic AMT MP3 (looks like a shuffle) player that will not work when it is NOT plugged into the USB port. It has a green light at one end and the green light blinks three times when you press play when unplugged. On sure if I done something wrong at the start-up page, may have deleted the program because it had several items already on it when I opened the file to get started. Can this be corrected or fixed?

I have one of these too and it looks like an i pod shuffle but then it comes up as an AMT and i have it connected and all, that works fine but how do you get the music onto the AMT MP3? Because everytime I try to drag something in there it says that it doesn't work because it can't copy the files or move them.

Does any one know what I am talking about?
    I am lost with this.

I just received the AMT & I am having the same challenge, I am not able to upload music, Does anyone know what system could be use to upload?

  • ldidya Jan 15, 2009

I posted the original subject and I wish to add a new remark.

The device plays music ONLY if it is in "on" position when un-plugging it from the PC. which means that actually when unplugging the device from the PC while in "off" position, switching it to "on" doesn't do anything.

is there something to do that can fix this ?

  • ldidya Feb 03, 2009

    Hello,

I want to thank FastFranky for the solution to the problem.

"The key to making it play does seem to be holding down the play button while flipping the power switch to ON".

it came without a manual (or did my wife throw it away ?) and I'm so thankfull to you for the responsivity.

    Cheers,

    Didier

  • rgrohit Mar 14, 2009

My friend just gifted me the MP3 Player . I put some songs into it, the player played them for a while. Put after that it is not turning on.No light is flashing, neither the PC detects it.Is this a normal problem, as I have read above. What is the use of the button next to the ON/OFF button. Also, how much time does it take to get fully charged.

I just got one. Cute little thing at a cheap price. Plug it in and my virus checker wants to delete the program. Tell it that the program is OK and to leave it alone. In XP it put two drives on my system - a AMT CDROM drive and an AMT MP3 drive. Ignore the CDROM drive, at least at first, and copy your music files to the MP3 drive. The key to making it play does seem to be holding down the play button while flipping the power switch to ON. Having it on or off when unplugging from the computer does not seem to matter.Who knows how long to charge it at first?

  • Anonymous Feb 10, 2009

An additional comment. It seems most of the time that you can make it play by holding down the play button for 2 to 3 seconds until the green light flashes. Once in a while this does not seem to work and I have to hold the play button down while turning it on at that point. I have not figured out what makes the difference yet.

I had the same problem when I received the MP3, my solution was.. upload the music as mp3 in windows medias, mp3 must be OFF while sync. If by any changce anyone gets "unknown device" change your cable for an other and it will pick up just fine. Good Luck

I also had such an apple ipod shuffle like amt mp3 player. It works fine. Check if you have switched the hold button into the held position, if you did, switch it back, then follow the instructions on the manual.

PS...
I have a burning odor coming from the player, when it overheats. I am afraid that something might happen you see? Any of you have this problem?

I hv the same player but witha different matter plzz help me guyzzz..My AMT Mp3 Player works remarkbly fine with high quality audio out put. Also it has an FM Mode from range 74-108.. My problem is this when i purchase the thing it was working really fine.even the FM Mode..But when I am downloading the files to the palyer from pc accidently it was infected by a virus so i tried 2 remove those folders but couldn't so finally I dicided to fomat the Mp3 Disk and did that with FAT32 as the player was fomatted with originally. After that process viruses were distroyed Mp3 can be played as previousely I did but when I select FM Mode it doesn't provide a single sound output so no cahnnels can be tuned either.

So do u hv any idea how to restore the fm brands in player plzz help me m really upset about this cozz it was working really well be for that **** get in to work inside my player...

I downloaded my cds to my cpu then to my mp3 player but when i go to play them my mp3 player says the songs r there but when i hit play it only goes to the songs that came with the player.. do u know why?

I had similar problem
Was due to the fact I loaded straight on to the memory card ( pulling memory card out of mp3 and placing in memory card slot on pc to download the music)
When it will only work if you connect the mp3 player to the pc with memory card still in mp3 player. then should download in correct format and in right place to play on mp3

I have purchased a AMT MP3 player. It did not come with manual or instructions. I am using Windows Media Player and it is telling me there are songs on the player that I put there but I can't get it to...

OK...
You may not have set up the AMT Media Manager program that actually comes with the device.
use the USB connection and look at the file list for the AMT player. There should be an ISO file on there called something like "AMT_Media_Manager.iso". Use any good CD buring program and use the "Burn an ISO Image" option and, when it asks for the course file, point to the iso file on the player. It will then burn the CD.
When complete, insert the CD into your PC and it should come up with an install prompt. Follow this and it will install the media manager ontoyour PC. Once installed, use this manager to transfer files to the device. In that way, it will automatically convery them to a usable file for the player.
Hope this helps,
Nucky

The MP3 player will now reboot, you can see the welcome screen after few seconds.

After format completes, Unplug the Cable from Computer. Wait few seconds.
5. Plugin the cable with MP3 player.
6. Go to My Computer.
You can now see the MP3 player drive. You can copy paste the media files into the drive. After you complete the file transfers, you can unplug the cable from PC and listen to the songs asusual :)

I've bought the same mp3 player and its working great !

Mp3 player displays "no files"

It is likely that the files loaded are not true MP3, therefore the PC -which can cope with WAV and other formats will play them but the player that read only MP3 cannot. Are you sure the files loaded are truly MP3?
