Question about Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines

Keurig b30 teardown

Has anyone disassembled one of these units? I was unable to find any reference in Fixya's database searching under "disassembly" or "tear-down". My intent is to investigate whether this failed unit might be candidate for repair attempt versus parts salvage.

There are a lot of clips to undo, but I managed to get mine opened up without breaking any off. All of the buttons and lights worked, it just stopped putting out any water. So I figured something just needed to get unclogged.

Here's what I did-

Unplug the machine and remove the drip tray, if present. I found it easier to work with the water reservoir and cup bin closed.

Remove the 8 screws around the edge of the metal base (indicated by green dots in the picture). Leave the other 4 screws in place.

Remove the two screws holding the circuit board clip in place (indicated by green dots in this picture). Keep these separate from the screws you removed earlier, and leave the two screws on either side of the dispense area in place.

You can now wiggle/rotate the circuit board out to check for obvious damage. There are some parts you might be able to replace, like the poly capacitors. In my case, it looked fine so I wiggled the board back and screwed the clip back in place.

To remove the front panels from either side of the dispense area, I slid an empty gift card into the seam, toward the front of the brewer. If you start at the bottom of the brewer, you can see how far to push the card into the seam. Then, slide the card along the seam to undo the clips.
side clips-actsnwcjtaeutfodfdtmsxpn-2-9.jpg

Here's a closeup of one clip. For perspective, my hand is underneath the brewer, and my thumb is pushing the front panel forward. There are three of these clips molded into each side of the brewer Keurig b30 teardown - side opened-actsnwcjtaeutfodfdtmsxpn-2-14.jpgloads/images/side opened-actsnwcjtaeutfodfdtmsxpn-2-14.jpg" alt="side opened-actsnwcjtaeutfodfdtmsxpn-2-14.jpg" class="h_mi" />

Once you have unzipped the three clips for one front panel, you can grab it and slowly pull forward and into the dispenser area to unhook the larger clips on the other side of the panel. There are two of these clips on the inner edge of each front panel. It takes a pretty good amount of force to get them unhooked, but patience pays off. Be especially careful with the panel that has the buttons/lights; the large button has an extension and spring that will come lKeurig b30 teardown - front%20panel%20off-actsnwcjtaeutfodfdtmsxpn-2-27.jpgnet/uploads/images/front%20panel%20off-actsnwcjtaeutfodfdtmsxpn-2-27.jpg" alt="front%20panel%20off-actsnwcjtaeutfodfdtmsxpn-2-27.jpg" class="h_mi" />
With the two front panels off, you can remove the 8 screws from around the outside edge of the unit. These also need to be kept in a separate pile. Leave the screws holdinKeurig b30 teardown - front without panels-actsnwcjtaeutfodfdtmsxpn-2-35.jpgsrc="http://i.fixya.net/uploads/images/front without panels-actsnwcjtaeutfodfdtmsxpn-2-35.jpg" alt="front without panels-actsnwcjtaeutfodfdtmsxpn-2-35.jpg" class="h_mi" />
Now you can spread Keurig b30 teardown - case off-actsnwcjtaeutfodfdtmsxpn-2-44.jpgbackward off the unit.

You should have a pretty good view of all the inner workings now.
On my B30, the straight connector (check valve?) between the two loose zipties had slipped down, pinching off the hose where it takes a turn toward the tee connector. I added the black ziptie to hold it in place on the frame, and a test run worked perKeurig b30 teardown - bottom plate-actsnwcjtaeutfodfdtmsxpn-2-7.jpgt has been trouble-free for many years since.

SOURCE: Keurig b30 turn on here motor, no water comes into

It takes about 3 minutes to brew. You cannot use a clear coffee mug (scensors won't detect it)

You should be able to turn it on, Then place k-cup in holder, Then close lid and water reservoir lid will pop up and you add desired amount of water. Then push lid down, place mug under spout and the blue light will light up and you push taht. Within 3 minutes you should have some coffee

Disassemble?

I recently had a problem with the steam button. It somehow during normal use came off its track in the handle and was stuck down in the "slot". After several searches online and this site i tried a knife along all the edges trying to figure out how to disassemble the iron. Well one quick flick with my knife to the side of the steam button and it came out. Well the surprise was the screw under these buttons. Hopefully this can help someone looking to disassemble the iron when they have problems.

How to remove CMOS battery for A215-S7444? I done a search and got this answer: "This should help: * Remove Laptop Battery * Remove Memory Cover * Spread spring clips to outside and * pull out RAM...

What are you trying to do? Replace the CMOS battery, or reset a BIOS password?

This is what the CMOS battery looks like,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CMOS-RTC-Battery-Toshiba-Satellite-A210-A215-Series-/270970735656?_trksid=p4340.m263&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D15%26pmod%3D160437620636%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D8748715535548215160

Now view this pictorial disassembly guide,

Page 1 - http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/toshiba-satellite-a205/laptop-disassembly-1.htm

Page 3 - http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/toshiba-satellite-a205/laptop-disassembly-3.htm

Go to the photo in Step 17, and click on it to enlarge.
See the CMOS battery in the middle/left?

Round silvery looking object. Go straight down from the red arrow to the far left.

That is how to access the CMOS battery.
(Yes I know it states Satellite A200/A205. Same for the A215)

Now BIOS password reset?
Do not know where the two copper pads are to briefly short out. Suspect under the Ram Memory modules, (And under a small sheet of Mylar plastic), or under the Wireless Modem. (And under a small sheet of Mylar plastic)

The links on this solution I gave may help,

Bio password

Here is a complete guide to disassembly of the VGN-SZ laptop.
http://home.comcast.net/~nw_systems/vgnSZ.pdf
The trick here is to get to the CMOS/BIOS (referred in the manual as the 'reserve') battery. Remove this battery and leave the unit with no battery, A/C power or CMOS battery for an hour or so. Then replace the CMOS battery and reassemble. Power it up. Its going to 'yell' a lot since the BIOS was flushed and all information will have to be put back in. However after you do this, you should be all set.
Hope this helps!

The 360 rotation motor runs (Motor can be heard rinning) But the scope wont rotate. As the product is out of waranty, is it a problem that I could fix my self, as i'm pretty handy with a screw driver...

You can send this into Meade for repairs.
http://www.meade.com/support/index.html

Or you can disassemble the base and look inside. I suspect you have either a loose or broken worm gear inside the base. There are manuals available on the Meade web site but they do not give any disassembly instructions. Call Meade at the phone number above or try taking apart the base and look inside. Only Meade will have replacement parts.

Hi Integral17,
It sounds like your database is corrupt. Here's something to try. While the device is booting, press the pause/play button several times (about once per second). If you hit the pause/play at the right time during the boot process, it will invoke a debug menu that will allow you to format the disk. Format the disk and see if that resolves the problem.

Let me know if this does not work.

Sharp LC-26D4U w/ no sound

It is possible to find ‘important service references’ by simply entering LC26D4U (the 5, 6, and 7 series are very similar, and this information covers all screen sizes) into the search field at eserviceinfo.com. This will greatly aid in disassembly/reassembly of the TV, as the A/V board is somewhat ‘buried’ under other boards. Please also refer to post # 373 at: avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=647174&page=13 for some ‘pics’ of the information detailed here.
