The heating element is shorted to ground. You will need to replace the heating element and the thermal fuse, both available at the link below.

SOURCE: kenmore series 80 gas dryer tumbles no heat

Yes. If the thermal fuse has no continuity, then the fuse is bad. Replacing it should get you back in action, barring any other defective items like the heating element, etc. Best wishes.

SOURCE: Thermal cut-off blows and high limit thermostat is

in this case we put the lower temp thermostat in the oven at 170 degrees till it was hot and measured with ohm meter and it was open. After it cooled down some it went back to being a short. Now with this part in the dryer and the new high temp thermostat
and it blew shortly after being turned on. A possiblity is that there is a short by passing the 150 degree thermostat and the element keeps being on and causes the 350 degree thermostate to blow.

Thermal fuse blown on kenmore dryer what is the cause

The thermal fuse blows when the vent gets restricted and builds up too much heat. After it gets to a certain point the thermal fuse blows. Clean out the vent, keep the lint trap clean, and hopefully your problems will go away.

I have a Kenmore Series 70 Dryer and I changed the thermal fuse got hot for a few minutes the model #110.74722400

The cycling thermostat must also be replaced when replacing the thermal fuse. The cycling thermostat's failure to cycle off the heating element results in overheating of the dryer which consequently blows the thermal fuse open.

Replacing only the thermal fuse should the dryer stops running and fails to start will result in its premature blowing or even the thermal cut-out (cut-off) located on the heater duct. Like the cycling thermostat, the high-limit thermostat must also be replaced once the thermal cut-out blows open. Refer to the parts diagram in the link below and look for item numbers 31(thermal cut-off), 34(hi-limit thermostat), 39(thermal fuse), and 41(cycling thermostat.

110.64872400 kenmore dryer 80 series. dryer makes humming noise when start button is pushed, can turn drum manually. please help

The humming noise is most likely coming from the timer motor and not from the drive motor. This characterizes a problem with a blown thermal fuse which is wired in series with the drive motor and located on the blower housing. Power to the motor is cut when the thermal fuse blows open and consequently the drive motor cannot run. No dryer function works when the drive motor cannot run.

Unplug the dryer or disconnect power then pry the lower access panel off with a flat-head screwdriver as shown.

Remove the screw from the lint duct bracket and remove the bracket. Remove the two hex-head screws from the lint duct and remove the duct to access the thermal fuse and the cycling thermostat.

Click on the links below for the detailed troubleshooting of this problem and the parts diagram. The cycling thermostat(part number
3387134) must also be replaced once the thermal fuse(part number 3392519) is found open.

Wont start, is there a fuse? and where is it

There's a thermal fuse located on the blower housing along with the cycling thermostat and is wired in series with the motor. This thermal fuse blows when the lint duct and vent are blocked or when the cycling thermostat is stuck closed or not cycling properly. Power to the motor is terminated and the dryer will not start once the thermal fuse blows and no dryer function works. Make sure the lint duct and vent are clear. Click on the link below for the detailed troubleshooting instructions but make sure first that the dryer is getting power.

Kenmore 90 series electric dryer qiuet pak 1 101649022200 the lights are on when you open the dryer but the dryer itself will not turn on or do anything!

There's thermal fuse on the blower that blows when the cycling thermostat malfunctions or the lint/vent duct are blocked. This thermal fuse is wired in series with the dryer motor and if it blows, power to the motor is terminated causing the dryer not to start and no dryer function works. Check to make sure that the lint filter is always clean and the vents are clear. Click on the link below for the detailed troubleshooting of the dryer, particularly the thermal fuse, when it doesn't start.

Clothes dryer (Kenmore) only blows cold air

What is the model number on the inside by the door. It's most likely a thermal fuse or the element. Do you have a way to check fuses by a meter or something? There are usually 2 thermal fuses on the pipe with big red wires where the element is. Usually they go out if not the element.

Loud buzz when starting, then shutting down after 10 min.

Yes, this sounds like the motor cutting out on thermal lockout.
