I'm having a problem with my Panasonic PT-53wx52

Replace the cable from your cable box to television. Try one from one of your other cable boxes before buying one, but I highly suspect the actual cable from box to TV is bad

set uses two of the STK-392-110 chips for convergence.

Both will have to be replaced.

I have start to finish step by step instructions for this repair based on me doing it in hundreds of these sets.

SHORT is on the 140 volt line--usually the horizontal output transistor is shorted, and there may be a simple reason for this.

Let me know if you are able with help to test the part indicated. I know the best way to work on this set safely and quickly.

There are bad solder connections on the Convergence Amp IC's. When you moved it , the connections that were loose are now disconnected. Resolder the pins on these IC's and you should be ready to watch TV again.

i am having same problem. 3 flashes indicate convergence problem according to auto diagnostics that you are seeing(info from service manual).
i am starting by replacing stk392-110 convergence amp ic($6 at electronic.com). just ordered them, will let you know how it goes. please check this site-- http://biobug.org/ht/panasonic/ -- very good step-by-step on procedure.

sounds like a power source problem...the flyback voltage regulater might be out!

from what I have found out their is a problem with the power unit inside the television. Could be a convergence chip that shorted out

This looks like a problemcausing the shutdown circuit to trigger. The shutdown circuit prevents the TV from being further damaged by an overcurrent or overvoltage event. The overcurent event is caused by a component being over driven and thus it decreases in resistive value causing an increase in current, The over voltage event is caused by a component increasing in its resistive value either due to an open circuit or decrease in the component's conductive area. In any event the shutdown circuits senses these eventes and shuts the TV down to prevent futher damage.

I would suggest taking the set to your local TV repair shop.

You have defective convergence amps. At least one. I would also look for any burnt or open resistors.
