I have a dual xdvd 8180 and everything works just fine on it, but when
i press the button for the tv to come out the screen comes on then goes
off. it flickers on and off as if it has a shortage. do you know what
that could be?
okay i understand what you mean. my cd player plays just fine all day until i open the tv. thats when everything sounds like its being muted then unmuted. the screen flickers on and off but i can see the diplay of songs when it flashes on.

yeah i understand now. my cd player works just fine. i can hear music and all with no problem. as soon as i push the button for the tv to com out i hear a beep every 2 seconds and the screen and music comes on and off like it is muting. it could be how it is installed b/c it was not done professionally..almost everybody i hav asked about this problem they seem to not know what it could be.

Offhand (without actually seeing the symptom/display) and initially, I would suspect that the unit is video muting. You could try checking the antenna input.
A notable point is, to my knowledge, the TV tuner on this particular model is not built-in. It is an external/add-on device, might you have to check up on this; is it present, is it connected correctly, does it receive power, does it get control signals from the DUAL XDVD-8180.

The principle is to ground the yellow/blue wire of the Dual XDVD8181 but with certain sequence and a few other actions. It is better explained with illustrations here while a pdf "how to" is available fro download here. User discretion with a consideration for safety pls.

Thank you for your e-mail. Put in the same number 3 times (example 1111)
until it locks and then push in the mute bottom and hold it and while
you hold the mute button with your other finger push in the volume
control (power button) and hold both of them until a new screen comes up
and then put in 122164 and hit OK and that should work.
let me break it down you do not need the remote...
first put the same number in (e.g 1111 enter this number 3 times) second after the device locks on the radio hold the mute button while holding that press in the volume nob (e.g power button) hold them both till another screen comes up and enter 122164 and press ok and your all done... this solution works on all dual indash dvd players
