I have a 42" plasma tv that has 1 black line that goes down the middle of the screen. It is about 2" wide and only came up after i had left it at a family members house when i went away. Could help me with this and manybe point me towards where i can get this fixed.

This tv fail from loose ribon cable plug, but I dont recomend you to work with it, becouse you cand spoil and easy job for the tech, and will cost you more, so get a tech, will be better...good luck

The tv T-CON board it is dying to causes this problems.This T-CON board sit in the middle at the bottom of the tv plasma screen panel.Try website like Ebay.com to buy a whloe new refurbish T-CON board for the replacement.
hi all .ive had the same problem,a thick black line down
screen.sometimes it flickers from top to bottom and other permantly in
view.but i have solved it.forget your ic boards and taking apart tv.have
you got either a ps3 or wii connected to tv.if so unplug power lead
from socket and relocate in seperate socket.make sure the lead is
completely free of any other leads and you might just find this works.i
think the power lead creates some sort of frequency that the tv picks up

sounds like a bad panel, try reseating any cables you can on the buffers . the buffers would be on the lower edge right where the black line appears. unfortunately Vizio does not supply panels.

2 yr old 42 inch plasma.screen goes black,sometimes only half screen,sound is on.it does it after 1 hr of viewing, theres a greenish line in the middle of the black sreen when that happens,
