I just bought a Casio FR-2650 second hand, and I'm having trouble getting it to work right. Initially, I could not get the paper to go into the machine, even if I tried to pull it through. It would get stuck near the center. I noticed that there was this tacky black substance that seemed to be what was causing the sticking. I eventually workded that out, and now I can load paper by pulling it through. However, it will not pull the paper through if I hit the feed button, and when I try to print anything, it will type it, but not shift the paper up. It just types over and over in the same spot. I am not convineced that it isn't missing a part. I would really like to get this thing to work

there is a little ink roller in there that should just pop out and then you can snap the new one in.

Follow theses steps (from Casio Support) :
First, check the batteries, and ensure there is not a paper jam in the printer.
If both are fine, then while the calculator is in the "Print" mode, press the [CA] (or [AC]) button 20 times consecutively to clear out memory buffers. Try some numerical calculations, and if the problem persists, repeat pressing the [CA] button 20 times.
If the problem still persists, then the calculator may require service
