How can i get internet explorer icon back on my desktop?

If you are using Windows, go to explorer and find the program you want the icon for. Right click and the pulldown menu will show sent to. Click on send to desktop shortcut.
If you have icons on the desktop that you want to delete, just right click on them and delete or drag to the trash can.

You must have deleted the internet explorer forward and backward bar,You have not mentioned the operating system and type of internet explorer you are using.

Try this step
click on start> go to accessories>click on system tools> click on system restore> choose a date when internet explorer had forward and back ward button.

click control alt delete, where it says start new application, type "iexplore" this will start up internet explorer, and you can probably find a way to get the icon back on top

You have accidently deleted system files of internet explorer.
Try to reinstall or repair using the setup of Internet Explorer.
Restart and check whether your computer's desktop has been changed back to normal. If not follow the below steps.
Since your computer's desktop has been changed back, i doubt that you have also deleted main system files.Then in that case,
repair using Windows Installation Disk

You can get your icon back again for Internet Explorer.

Here is the steps that you can do to get the icon back again.
* click on start
* click on My computer
* click on Local Disk C:
* click on Program files
* click on Internet Explorer
* then look fo rhte Icon for Internet explorer
* right-click on it then choose send to and choose Desktop (create shortcut)
you should be able to get the icon back again

Assume you are using Windows XP..
Go to My Computer >C Drive (your hard drive icon)>open programmes, find the Internet explorer folder, open it and right click on the "iexplore" icon and create shortcut..it will then prompt you to place the shortcut on the desktop..windows Vista is virtually the same

To bring the icon back on desktop, click on Start button>All Programs> right -click on Internet Explorer> select Send to desktop.

You might have dirty cache. In Internet Explorer do...

TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > Browsing History DELETE > Temporary Internet Files DELETE FILES...
History DELETE HISTORY...
Form Data DELETE FORMS...
