I forgot my pattern lock for my nexus s.How can I reset

Reset your pattern (Android 4.4 or lower only)

1. After you've tried to unlock your phone multiple times, you'll see "Forgot pattern." Tap Forgot pattern.
2. Enter the Google Account username and password you previously added to your phone.
3. Reset your screen lock. Learn how to set a screen lock.

if it does not work hard reset is the only way

hard reset by recovey options

you have to reset it to factory default just follow those steps:
1. shutdown the phone
2. hold volume up button and press the power button
3. when manufacturer logo come leave the power button but keep volume up button to get to recovery mode
4. in recovery mode use volume up/down button to navigate and the power button to select
5. choose WIPE DATA / FACTORY RESET than select YES .... wait a moment then select WIPE CACHE PARTITION
6. finale step select REBOOT
keep in your mind the all data in the phone will be erased

You can try to reinstall the OS for the android device. Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5.

You will need to hard reset your phone.

if you forgot your pattern lock, just give few more tries to continue wrong efforts. at an instant, the OS will report 'attempts exceeded, enter with your gmail'. at this point just enter your email address and in the textbox for password just give value as 'NULL'. this will instantly ask for new pattern lock and you are done!
