Tune into the station you want as normal. Then on the remote, press & hold the number key for the preset number you want. This will flash in the display to show you it's set. You can preset 30 FM & 15 AM stations.

You need a new bulb installed - difficulty is semi hard , in that you must take apart the boombox , remove the shroud around the bulb , unsolder , resolder new one ..take the old one to an electronics shop to match.
There a few places you can try, Radio Shack, Electronic Service Shops, Specialty Electronic Shops, and second stores. A last resort is to go online to JVC and check with customer service.
There are six common cords that fit most devices, Radio Shack, Electronic Service Shops, Electronic Specialty Stores, and second hand shops are more likely have what you need, as a last resort go online to JVC and link to customer support.
I have a JVC boom box and I use a Sirius Sratus radio on mine through the line input of the boom box. Probably sounds better than the Sirius boom box that plugs into it.
