Turn down the volume on the PHONE, not the headset. Motorola 325i w/ H500. Again, turn down the volume on the PHONE, not the headset. In my case almost all the way down.
SOURCE: H700 Echo Problem.
Each party needs to keep their earpiece (listening) volume at the minimum level that is audible to reduce chance of feedback. Also, look to see if there is an encryption on/off option on the phone...this could be causing an echo in either state due to interference...try switching encryption on/off. Also, check your update options on the phone, you didn't say which kind of phone it is but some can get firmware updates that may be needed for bluetooth to work well. Finally, you may get results by deleting the device on the phone and re-adding it thru discovery.

Hold down the middle button on your headset for 6 seconds until you hear a series of beeps. Then hit the + sign about 2-3 times and then press the middle button again to disconnect. This should fix the issue. Make sure to call someone to test this as you may have just turned the volume up way to high. If that is the case, then you need to repeat this process using the - button instead of the + button.

Hi There, I had the same problem with a headset one of our call centre reps were using. It's usually due to some one fiddling with the button. I got it working by removing the battery from the headset then resinked the headset to the base unit. Hope it works for you
SOURCE: unable to connect jabra t5330 to a cisco ip phone 7941G headset jack
You can solve this by connecting your phone inline.
On the back of the phone where the phone handset plugs into, plug one end of the jabra headset wire & connect other end to the 2nd position (marked by phone & handset). Now plug the handset wire from Ip phone to the 1st position (marked by handset) in the jabra headset. Now you are good to go.
When the phone rings lift the phone handset and answer it with your jabra headset. You can't use jabra with 7941 without lifting the handset on phone.
