There is a switch on the transmitter that says ST (Steering) and has two positions- N (normal) and R (reversed). There is also a TH (throttle) which can also be Normal or Reversed. Try switching that setting.

nope not normal. only solution i can think of is you have throttle servo plugged into steering slot on reciever.

bad steering servo maybe

one adjusts steering from neutral (best) to a bit left or right, the other adjusts where trigger throttle will start breaking/reverse (keep in mind one does not need alot of speed in reverse so adjusting this so it acts more like a brake, and not throw you right into reverse is best)

You probably just shorted out the reciever or the esc from contact with the water. You can try taking them out and putting them in rice, but if that doesn't work, you will have to buy new hardware.
