Screen's color in black and white

I have a PT-52DL10 and it was working fine for a year. Last night, i was viewing a program and the picture started flickering to a black and white picture with a slight green tint. It flickers these colors and comes back to normal and repeats on and on and on in 3sec intervals. I had a service guy come out and he said its not the dlp lamp but he wasn't very knowledgeable on DLP RPTVs. Is there a board i can switch out? and what is the model number for that board? If i used a tech, how much would it cost me? This problem is driving me nuts!

Your color went out because the color wheelor generators not working. These are sofisticated sets and if I were you I would call a pro as you dont want a local guy who knows little about DLP sets to cause the problem to 10 fold. Contact 800-211-PANA see if they can help

I have a panasonic pt-60dl54, the sound works but green picture

Hi,Yes your problem sounds like the DMD board. This is how it works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, color distortion or white dots on screens. You will need to replace the DMD board. Have a blessed one!

Spots on picture screen, color not correct

the picture tube has three color production units (bulbs) red, yellow and blue.....since these three colors can be combined to produce almost any color. as you have specified the red bulb might have damaged due to one of the following reasons.
1.continuous usage
2. keeping your tv in standby mode for a prolonged time.
the only thing you can do is call a technician and get your damaged part replaced.
remember please do not try to disassemble the unit yourself.

Kodak md853

hi! my sister-in-law gave me a MD853 camera last week from Canada. I used it over the weekend when we went on a trip and the pictures and videos i took were great. Last night, my daughter took a picture of me and when she took a picture of her brother, there was only white on the screen...like a moving white sheet with colored edges. I thought she destroyed it or something. I tried to use it but now the screen is all black...last night only the video worked but this morning everything is black. The other programs in the camera works so i suspect the problem must be in the lens. I'm in the Philippines and if I send it back to Canada for repairs it would just take a long time and it will be expensive to send it back. What can I do? I really love this camera... help!!!

Same as other poster: Player only plays black and white

It sounds like the circuitry which actuates the color drives for the screen are not working, this would ba analogous to adjusting for a B&W picture on a color TV you have color but the screen shows black and white. I would get a schematic for this set and measure the voltages on the color processor that connects to the screen since you know that the external jack has color. If possible I can help you troubleshoot this, if you need me to help out.
