Disney princess portable dvd player won't play dvd's, continual error messages says "not supported" - what can I do to correct this?

I had the same problem with my daughters dvd player this evening. It shouldn't happen in the 1st place but I unpluged it and then pluged it back in and it ejected the disk when I pressed the button but when I put another dvd in it to see if it was just a glitch it did the same thing so I unpluged it again this time for about 2 minutes and then it started up just fine. This one is the new one with the jewel buttons on it. We just got it for chirstmas so it is not at all old. So I would recomend to turn it off immediatley at the end of each use maybe it was me keeping it on for them to go to sleep and letting the main menu run that was causing the problem. when we first got ours i put a dvd in and it wouldnt play either then i noticed you have to push the input buttons until it is on dvd mode every time you play a dvd

We had the same issue. Try clicking <play>1234<play> and it should unlockk the dvd in the machine. Seems to work on my daughters. It's a parental control of come sort. HTH.

Here are a few things you can try.
1. Check the DVD's and make sure that it is not scratched.
2. Check to make sure it accepts that brand of dvd disc.
3. Call technician. Number shoud be on the DVD player or on your manual. How long did you have this player? If you have warranty on it, I would return it if # 1 & 2 is not the problem. It could be a mechanism problem.
