Hello, I'm having an issue with my Sanyo DP42848 LCD TV. When you power it on the LCD panel turns on for about 2-3 seconds then immediately turns off. You can power cycle the TV over and over and every time the LCD panel does the same thing, displays whatever input its on (what you're watching) for a few seconds then pitch black. The audio stays on while the screen is black. I've tried reseatting all cables on both inverter boards however same thing is happening. I am really stumped at the fact that it shows a display for a few seconds then black screen after turning it on. Has anyone seen this before?
Mine turned out to be a lot of bad back light bulbs. I had several CCFL bulbs that were bad and needed replaced. It is not a cheap or easy fix.Mine turned out to be a lot of bad back light bulbs. I had several CCFL bulbs that were bad and needed replaced. It is not a cheap or easy fix.
The Sanyo DP42848 is notorious for poor quality backlights. If one or two of the backlights go bad, the monitor will turn on but then shut down the backlights after about 2 seconds. There is a circuit on the inverter that detects the wrong amount of current is being used and shuts it down. It is a safety feature. The power light will stay on. The fix is to replace the bad backlights. It is a difficult job and the backlights are expensive. Given the age of that TV, I would recommend just replacing the TV.The Sanyo DP42848 is notorious for poor quality backlights. Hi,
It only tells us that the inverter cable needs to be reseated or replaced. It's not an expensive repair so fortunately you can consult any local certified technician and have them work on this.
@ tech4allmen, I'm not sure which cable(s) you're talking about. This particular TV has two inverter boards, Master and Slave. I have actually removed and reseatted all cables and inverters themselves.@ tech4allmen, I'm not sure which cable(s) you're talking about. I had the same thing happen to a DP42848 I'm repairing but I could smell ozone on the left side so I didn't replace anything. I just disassembled the screen and found four flouresent tubes not working! I exchanged them to be sure it was the tubes and it was.New screen is out of the question. I am trying to find a broken used LCD screen somewhere and rob the tubes from it as they just snap in and that might not happen so goodbye tv!
power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement. Hoping that this will help out in solving the problem
