Sounds like theres a partition on there, do you have another drive in my computer? if not the partition probably isnt setup, if you go to your control panel, administrative tools, computer managment then select disk managment, from there you can activate the second part of the drive, might be worth keeping it like that and save all your files to that part of the harddrive.

Hi,
Seems like your hard drive is malfunctioning, try another HD. That 80gb is already obsolete and the circuit board might have some defect.
If you could pull out the underside circuit and clean the gold contact points and try it again, if still not working...... buy a new one!
Check also the jumper and cable it must be in the "master" configuration.

Hope that helps you out!
Thanks for asking FixYa!

Drive failed in laptop said no drive detected. placed drive into usb drive enclosure and it still doesnt detect it. help!

The hard drive is beyond repair.
To get your laptop working again, replace the hard drive with a new one, install Windows on the new hard drive, plus the laptop's device drivers and install your programs.

Wd hdd 80 gb sata clicking problem not detect

The moveable read/write "head" inside the disk-drive (like the needle and arm on a vinyl record player) is making the "clicking".

It's a sign that the disk-drive is "dead".

Search online for a professional "data recovery service" -- for a large fee, they can repair the disk-drive, just long enough to copy your files onto a new disk-drive.
