The computer default sound card is expected to perform compartibible to the requests. You need to access the bios by pressing F1 when booting up. Go to the power management tab and set to max performance.
Likewise, in windows, control panel, power options, set to maximum performance.
That should do it, although don't expect to much from your battery in terms of life expectancy.
